This book contains a lot of good information about Mayan culture. It discusses all aspects of the culture from the kings and merchants to family life and their words and numbers. It includes set out text of vocabulary words and fun “Did you know?” facts. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 because it is not age appropriate for the grade level I want to teach. It would be a great reference book for a teacher as it has activities and cutouts; however, the material would need to be taught to the kids instead of it being a book they could interpret themselves.
