Keith is one of the best storytellers ever and boy does he have stories to tell! Plenty about being broke beyond broke, getting into brawls, taking care of his friends, getting drunk, male privilege, and having guns pointed at him. This issue is a contributor issue celebrating the 10th anniversary of the zine. It features an interview with Mike Bukowski about his art, stories from Jonathan Spies (Abort!), Dave "Roche (On Subbing), Nate Beaty (Brainfag), Ryan (Mishap), Mike (These Days), and a good number of new stories from Keith as well. Also contains new selections from the "punk heroes, punk villians" collection of punk collector cards of stereotypes and the requisite record reviews for the issue. Don't get me wrong though, Keith has some knowledge and understanding kicking around his brain, probably from just kicking around cities and towns for so long and he seems to have learned a lot from the hardcore community, doing artwork for Submission Hold, HeartattaCk, Against Me!, and more! Another winner. " ~Microcosm Publishing geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
The cover of veteran zinester Keith Rosson's zine is an homage to Milwaukee drivers' disdain for the common pedestrian: thus sets the dark, humorous tone for Avow #24. A perzine in a seemingly post-perzine age, Avow sets the formula for solid writing and smart design, this time about Keith's past year in his new home of Milwaukee. This issue is dedicated to music reviews and comics about the search for employment, including writing about one of his favorite teachers, quitting cigarettes, the death of his father, and an interview with Joe Lachut (of Seven Inches to Freedom zine).
