Reluctant readers, especially boys, will enjoy this book, which features illustrations, super short chapters, and many mentions of dog poo. ( ) This story was very funny, but I would say its silliness is for boys. Very good book, but me, being a clean little girl, would rather not read about poo and shoes in poo. But even then, I do agree that parents should be punished for treating children in bad ways. I mean, we children are real people who should be respected for, aren't they? This book was very good, had chapters named after Elvis Presley, after his fridge(!), after Mammy Doyle and many other funny and witty things. Have you heard of 'The Tudors' song in Horrible Histories? It's funny...very, very funny...da dun dun dunn.... This particular story was about a man who was quite mean to his children, Robby and Jimmy. Then he got the 'Giggler Treatment', which is when an adult is mean to his/her kids or someone else and then, as a punishment, steps in remarkably disgusting poop. But this was not just any old poo. It was Rover's, a pooping millionaire who is just a dog but a great one too... Can Robby and Jimmy save their poor father from the wopper-sized poop? Poo is a very disgusting thing. Hmph. Roddy Doyle also made a book called 'Wilderness', which I put down as not liking it. I don't know if it just 'wasn't my type of book' or if it was a particularly awful one, but I know that this giggling one is good! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
