Cop is hired to drive a troubled 16-year old (who is also a walking encyclopedia) from California to a booby hatch in Kansas, accompanied by the boy's nurse, an attractive 26 year old psychology student. But someone may be following them. This is a nice road story that keeps the reader fully engaged until the end. Wormser was recommended (somewhere, I forget) as a pulp writer worth reading, and this book supports that recommendation. This one will take you right back to 1961 when it was published. It will make you ache for never having had the opportunity to drive down old Route 66, eat at diners, and stay at one-of-a-kind motels. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
