Our Home Place A personal account of life as it was for a particular farm family in Iowa, from the early 1900's to mid-century, by Wanda Misbach Edgerton (read 29 Apr 2008) The author's parents were married in 1902 and lived on a farm in Sumner Township, Iowa County, Iowa, till they retired and moved to town.. The author was born in 1905 and she tells of her life on the farm and of her parents' lives. It is kind of artlessly told and not real well organized, but I found it poignant and of course much she relates recalled for me many of the things that I went thru growing up on an Iowa farm--though she tells less about men's work and more about household and female happenings. But there were many similarities and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
