This short summation by a 20 year mililitary officer has some good and weak points. At times, there seems to be misleading over simplification on the order of battle and there are serious omissions (i.e. not mentioning the Rutherford County militia or Col Andrew Hampton) But he does a much better job of using maps to show the avenue of attacks by the eight elements. This book is the only one that I have seen that attempts to show where the main camp of the Loyalists was located -- below the summit. I agree with his assumption.
