This book provides a good understanding of the Soviet military mind. Everything to be ahead of the game at whatever cost. Quite an eye opening list at the end of the book of Soviet naval accidents. Highly recommend if your interested in learning about Soviet military behavior and the dangers they have brought to mankind. ( )

When I was in the navy, serving on a nuke fast attack, we heard tons of rumors about how fraked up the Russian subs were. This book really confirms that. The movie was also very good and true to the book. Great book. ( )
