I had expected this to be real mysteries from history, but instead, it was short fictional mysteries, all set in historical times ("from Ancient Rome to the reign of Good Queen Bess"). Mysteries don't work so well with short stories, because there isn't enough time to set up the characters. Not very satisfying. ( )
