This 55th anniversary edition of a goose named Borka who wears a sweater is as delightful to children now as 55 years ago. Borka has no feathers and cannot fly. Borka is left behind when all the other geese fly south. The children enjoyed the story of what happens to Borka although they were sad about his family leaving him and friends being mean because she is different. A good story to start conversations on how to treat others. The bold and colorful illustrations as wonderful today as they were 55 years ago. ( ) Borka is born on the east coast of England, but she is different. She has no feathers, so her mother knits her a grey sweater to wear, which Borka appreciates, but the other geese just laugh. Borka has no friends and could not fly, so is left behind in the autumn. She takes refuge on a boat with a friendly dog and crew who take her to London where she settles in Kew Gardens and makes friends with the more tolerant birds there, especially another goose called Ferdinand. The happy end. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
