I wish the art was less naive in style, but the story is very affecting (makes me cry) and the characters appear racially diverse. Dogs deserve all the love! ( )

I received this as a gift from the emergency veterinary clinic that cared for my 12 year old Labrador, Pilot, in the weeks before I had to say goodbye. Lots of tears were shed when this arrived on my door step, as it is signed with condolences by the staff. It's a beautiful book, but I don't think I'll ever be able to open it a second time. ( )

I'm an atheist, but I still love this book and its companion. Sensitive, warm, and can be appreciated by pet owners whether or not they've lost their 4-footed friend. ( )
