Everything about this book was wonderful - the writing, the story line, the emotion. Nobody’s Perfect, is a chapter book that every girl can relate to. Meagan, a fourth grader, plans for her first birthday slumber party that she has been waiting to have. Meanwhile, Alexis, the new girl in school, joins their class and everyone thinks she’s perfect. Megan starts to fear that Alexis is treating her differently because she's deaf. This book perfectly depicts struggles that teenage girls go through at school. There’s always that one girl that everyone is jealous of. This can be seen in the text. For example, “ She’s one of those girls that everyone thinks is so perfect. Actually, she is kind of perfect. She’s smart and athletic and pretty and-.” Alexis and Meagan get paired together for a science fair project, which helps Megan see that the two girls have something in common after all. Another aspect I loved about this book is how the book showed the sign language alphabet at the end of the story. Throughout the book Megan had to use sign language to communicate to her friends. This teaches readers about sign language and the hardships that Megan had to face. Overall, the main idea of this book captures the intensity of a young girl's life. The main message of this wonderful chapter book is that nobody's perfect and you should never judge someone before you get to know them. ( )

This book is amzing. It's about a girl who is deaf. When she gets a new girl in her class, Megan has some doubts. She wonders why she strives to be perfect at every thing she does. Megan thinks that the new girl doesn't like her just because she is deaf. Megan learns that they will be spending a lot of time together because they are paired together for the school science fair. In all of this chaos Megan learns that nobody's perfect and you should never judge someone before you get to know them. ( )
