It's okay, he is so dislikeable in his demands for a perfect wife, so selfish and arrogant, you pity the poor girl who will end up with him. ( ) Ah, the heroine hides behind glasses trope. If you took my glasses off I'd be nearly blind, disabled. Thankfully this heroine was wearing plain glass, otherwise it would have been a deal breaker for me. Miss Lenore Lester has been hiding behind being her father's chatelaine, a job she's been occupying since her mother died. She hides behind glasses and dowdy dresses, organising the house and the people in it so that everything runs smoothly and she has a chance to study. When Jason Montgomery, Duke of Eversleigh visits he's intrigued and interested. She seems to speak to him in ways that he never thought he could understand and after they're married they have to find out how to keep their lives going well. He has to discover how much she actually means to him, outside of having his babies. I liked it. The characters were fun, they kept me reading. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

HTML: A favorite Regency romance from #1 New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Laurens... Lenore Lester was perfectly content with her quiet country life. She took steps to remain inconspicuous and tried her best to show indifference, but Jason, Duke of Eversleigh, could easily see behind her disguise. Though the awkward lady hid behind glasses and pulled-back hair, she couldn't cover her beauty. Persistent in his affections, the notoriously charming Jason was determined to loosen the hold she had on her heart. .Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
