The award-winning author of the dearest dorothy novels, called by Guideposts "one of today's most popular and bestloved Christian humorists," motivates readers to laugh, play, and relish the good things in life. Charlene Ann Baumbich has always spoken and written about the layers of life just as she sees them--slightly off-center, mostly dead-on, and always through the lens of grace. With Don't Miss Your Life! Charlene Ann Baumbich's creative pedal is to the floor, her cranky gallbladder has been "left behind," and her storytelling is in full swing. Fasten your seatbelts! With her signature warmth and candor, Charlene offers readers insight on how to become their own best storytellers of what God is doing in their lives. She does far more than show why it is so important to slow down, enjoy our blessings, and not take things so seriously. She encourages everyone to build a "memory portfolio" of special life moments, and in doing so to grow in wisdom, learning how to see God's hand in our daily lives is the key to a rich and fulfilling life.… (meer)

This is a witty and playful piece, which seeks to further your connection to your spirituality... and yourself! The writing is such that one can easily relate :) ( )

Book was a bit too religious for me. I had a hard time reading it. I have a strong faith background, but felt it was a bit too pushy for me. Hard to finish.

Christian-based inspiration and humor highlight "Don't Miss Your Life! An Uncommon Guide to Living with Freedom, Laughter and Grace," by Charlene Ann Baumbich. Her writing is somewhat reminiscent of Laura Jensen Walker's fiction and non-fiction. A nice, quick read to help inspire women to take time and not miss the beauty in life. ( )

I was excited to receive this book from the publisher as it looked like a great "feel good" book. When the book arrived, I was a little surprised to see that it was a Christian book. I like reading everything, but I didn't remember the book being advertised this way on the Early Reviewer's site.

I started out reading the book with high hopes, but felt that the book just went around in circles. I felt like the author kept telling me what was going to be addressed in the book, but never really got around to it.

This book may have been great for some, but it just didn't connect for me. I read for pure pleasure and gave up on this book about half to three-quarters through as reading became a chore. ( )

I didn't know what to expect upon reading Charlene's paperback book titled, Don't Miss Your Life! I requested this particular book from Divine Inspiration because I liked the cover art mostly. To be honest with you, I wasn't familiar with Charlene's writing nor the Dearest Dorothy Series. The very first thing that caught my eye on the book cover were these three young ladies who were jumping in mid air with colorful skirts on and oh yes, did I mention their bare feet?! If you are looking for a vision of what freedom within looks like or you might be longing to read a book filled with guidance to how one's life might feel to be free, then I encourage you to get a copy of Charlene's book because "walking barefoot in grass makes your understanding tingle".

The book begins with a charming and playful approach on how to discover your own rich and sustaining memories called "Remember When?" I found that this is not your typical self help book but rather a cleverly woven art of storytelling that this author shares so professionally with us from her own heartfelt unique experiences of life. Charlene has so many cool quotations and scriptures added throughout her book.

Throughout the book's chapters, Charlene's sense of humor shines brilliantly while one in particular, "Humor Hogties" will have your sides ripping! Being a piano teacher, my favorite part of this book is about a passage asking the reader some soul searching questions of reflection and contemplation, "What is the song in your heart right now?"
Charlene Baumbich will encourage you to take ownership of your life, show you how to be liberated from despair and celebrate life to the fullest with passion and joy overflowing. I highly recommend this book to you and rate it 5+ stars!
