I actually found this waaaay more interesting then I ever expected to. Soldiers from all different eras and wars find themselves on an island with prehistoric animals. Then a very futuristic soldier appears. Clearly the futuristic soldier is part of a group orchestrating the whole thing. I'm actually really excited about this and planning on putting a hold on the second one. ( ) I actually found this waaaay more interesting then I ever expected to. All the problems of DC’s 1960s “The War That Time Forgot” series from STAR SPANGLED WAR STORIES — repetition, repetition, repetition — are not present in DC’s current reboot, THE WAR THAT TIME FORGOT: VOLUME ONE. Whereas the original stories were the same thing over and over again — World War II soldiers fighting dinosaurs — Bruce Jones’ update aims for an action-driven plot steeped in its own teasing mythology, à la TV’s LOST.
Written by Bruce Jones Art by Al Barrionuevo & Jimmy Palmiotti Cover by Neal Adams It's a time-warped tale for the ages as warriors throughout the history of the DCU find themselves trapped on a dangerous, dinosaur-infested island. How did characters like G.I. Robot, Enemy Ace and Firehair wind up here - and for what nefarious reason? Find out in this collection featuring issues #1-6 of the 12-part miniseries event! Advance-solicited; on sale March 4 - 144 pg, FC, $17.99 Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
