Chapter One is an almost breathless tour of the basics of legal research. Most of the rest of the chapters do break down these topics into more detail. Electronic research techniques are prominently featured -- this may be one of the first books where print citation checking is barely explained. The final chapter starts great with a generic "how to research" plan (including some decent ideas for the time-pressed), but then oddly segues into advanced Lexis/Westlaw searching techniques.
The typographical errors were quite distracting. There were several punctuation errors (including two missing parentheses on a single page, and ending findlaw.com with a period every time it appears in a chapter, even though it never ended a sentence). There were spelling errors, including the two that appear on page 171. And there were a few other odd errors, like the authors not listing ALR 6th and ALR Fed 2d, even though all their other lists are quite exhaustive.
