Love vampire novels!
I like the twist on this one and the changes to the history.
I always like when authors do there own things with a classic monster. ( )

The best way I can describe Bite Me! is that it is the love child between FAIRY TALE and I Kissed A Zombie, And I Liked It - snappy-happy with just enough snark and a little bit of sparkly. The sucky part was the disaster between AJ and Ryan which had delicious and heart-wrenching tension that seems to have no hope whatsoever.

Beyond doomed relationship angle, the rest of the story was all right. It mostly stayed afloat with the tongue-in-cheek humor and mystery that surrounded AJ's family history.

Overall Melissa Francis concocted a pretty interesting vampire lore and simply gave us a little nibble with Bite Me! I am definitely salivating for its recently-released sequel Love Sucks! ( )

I really liked Bite Me! but I didn't quite love it. I was glued to the pages and found it difficult to stop reading, but there were a few elements that I really didn't enjoy.

I thought that Bite Me! was a fresh take on vampires and I really enjoyed learning a bit about them through AJ's perspective. AJ has a fun, witty voice and she had me laughing at some of her comments! I really felt for her situation with Ryan. They had to break up with each other when their parents got married and it just didn't sit well with me. She had many insert-foot-in-mouth moments with Ryan that had me cringing on her behalf. AJ's friends were a nice addition to the story, although the end of the book left me questioning what kind of person one of her friends really was.

I have to say, though I really enjoyed reading about how Ryan and AJ dealt with their new relationship, I didn't really feel the chemistry between them. Ryan was very ho-hum and their really wasn't any hunk factor to him. I felt that AJ could do much better for herself.

I was very intrigued with the mythology behind the vampires in Bite Me!, though I felt that there could have been more. Since this is a series, I am hoping that there is more of AJ's family history in Love Sucks!.

I was really thrown for a loop with an added element that comes towards the end of the story! It came as a bit of a shocker to me, though there were little hints thrown in throughout the story that alluded to the twist.

Overall, I found that I really liked this story and thought it was an original edition to the vampire genre. I can't wait to find out what else AJ has in store for her in Love Sucks!. I would recommend this to those that enjoy reading YA vampire romance. ( )

I really liked this book. It was a great YA vampire book. High School drama with a twist. This book kept me entertained until the end. And I have to say that I did not see the end coming.
The book starts off at AJ's mom's wedding. The kicker is that AJ's mom is marrying her ex-boyfriend's dad who she had to break up with because her mom and her ex Ryan's dad decided to get married.
You then get to hear about AJ's vampire side and what the backwards S means on her neck. Also Ryan and his family don't know that AJ and her side of the family are vampires. But like I said at the beginning of my review, I never expected the ending.
AJ's mom then tells her a little about her past, and her dad, who is not around. So AJ goes to her teacher, Mr. Charles to learn more about vampires, only to find herself in a lot more trouble then she thought.
This was a great read. I am hoping there are more books!! And I loved the cover of this book. ( )

Completely based off of the summary I went in thinking this book is gonna be, like, so stupid *giggles then pops bubble gum*. But it wasn’t it. It was a smidge of creepy stalker guy, hot but you-cannot-think-he-is-hot-cause-he-is-your-stepbrother-and-that-would-be-really-gross-if-you-do sibling, and the occasional “holy shit I can fly!?” attitudes. It was a fun, fast roller coaster ride that left me wanting the sequel now!

AJ is definitely not one those bubble gum princess I had imagined but rather a smart bubble gum princess! Okay, okay, I kid you. AJ is just a regular albeit with a few vampiric traits teenager that was torn between two best friends, stalked by this really, really creepy History teacher that you thought you knew, and is the modern day Marsha Brady complete with 5 other siblings and an Alice. She deals with common issues of coming to terms with a new step family, tired of being the good girl all the time, and trying to rekindle a friendship between two of your friends that just aren’t clicking anymore. The vampire stuff is just a plus.

We managed to get some background information of the AJ’s family, what are they, how high in the vampire line they are as well as the stepfamily secrets. And trust me that their secret is a little bit of Houdini *hint hint*

*winks and stands on one leg with one arm outstretched*

*giggles*

Sorry, you have to read the book to get it.

Anyway my major complaint was the ending. It was fairly cut off of the next page ending—you know you hate those. Definitely a sequel in the works, which I can’t wait for! Also had some issues with the friends where hopefully the sequel will answer.

Overall: An overall “Awh!” appeal. ( )
