I wanted to like this book more than I did. Although there's nothing particularly wrong with it, I never identified with either of the main characters. The other friends in the circle were rather one-dimensional and just there when expedient to the plot. The book is also chock full of romance novel tropes, including the "fortunately-timed accidents" and "misunderstandings pulling people apart when just a few questions would solve the misunderstandings." This is probably one of Taite's first books; it has the feel of a new author who needs to find some direction to it.
I just finished the book about twenty minutes ago, and I am having a hard time remembering exactly what happened in the book, which isn't a good sign. It's not a horrible way to spend an afternoon by any means, but there's nothing new here, either. ( )
