Two to Six is the story of an attorney faced with charges of child sexual abuse. These charges stem from his involvement with an underage male prostitute. I tried to muddle through the whole story hoping there would be some redeeming quality but about halfway through I find myself unable to pick the book up again. The story is poorly written and I just found myself fed up with the whole "woe is me" story. This man did something wrong but spends the story trying to make the reader feel sorry for him and plays the main character as the victim. There was no remorse. Perhaps the second half would have been better but could not justify to myself wasting more time on this book. ( )

4582. Two to Six, by James P. Cornelio (read 12 Jun 2009) This is a gritty book which sets out the author's ordeal when he is arrested for a sex crime. He had had a phone call a month earlier, so he knew why he was being arrested. The book relates the procedure involved in the year after the arrest, but does not tell of the trial. The book does not fail to tell more than a person not a voyeur wants to know, and so I did not find the book enjoyable reading, though one does keep reading because one wants to know how it turns out. Unfortunately, the author does not have the benefit of the Faith he was born into--apparently his family has pretty much abandoned that Faith, or at least there is no indication that even his mother ever thought about praying for him--obvious though it is that he was much in need of Divine help.. I confess I could not feel empathy or sympathy for the author, especially since he did not seem desirous of even trying to live a moral life. He spent lots of money on his defense, and the account of what he went through before trial is of high interest to a lawyer, especially a criminal defense lawyer. ( )
