The Silver Dragon Codex is about a beautiful woman in her twenties name Belen who performs in the circus. She is accused of being a dragon who murdered everyone in the village of Angvale and then change herself into human form to hide her crimes. She has a memory loss and cannot remember stuff. Belen, Jace and some other friends from the circus decided to go to the village of Angvale to find out the truth. While there Belen found out she was the Silver Dragon and her memory also came back. Belen and her friends went back to the circus, they found out that Worver the ringmaster was the person behind stealing the magic stone and all the evil things such as the people were changed into werewolves, he enslaved the pukah, and Belen didn't kill anyone, she was tricked into thinking that the village stole her egg. Worver tried to get away but he got caught and the curse of the village was broken. This book has kept my interest and shows some irony. The Silver Dragon has acknowledge that she was wrong when she thought she killed all the villagers. Only to find out that Belen the person they trusted was the one behind all the evil things. ( )

The book, Silver Dragon Codex, is about a lady that doesn't remember her past and joins a circus. That is until the white robed wizard visits the circus and blames the destruction of a whole town on her and then says she is a silver dragon. The lady and some of her circus friends check out the destroyed town. When they get there however, all the citizens are werewolves because of the curse of a stolen “magic” stone. They run into the forest and continue fighting the werewolves. All of a sudden the lady turns into a silver dragon and the werewolves run off. The group makes it to a cave that they find belonged to the lady. She did attack the village, but only because of something that she couldn't remember. The group of friends goes back to the circus and finds out who stole the "magic" stone, it was the circus ringleader himself! The ringleader decides that there should be no witness and tries to kill them. The group survive and the ringleader tries to run but gets caught by the white wizard and put into jail.

This book is a good read when at school during seminar for the silent sustained reading time. It has colorful characters and a good background story. I like the way the story changes point of views during periods of the book. I think this book is good for dragon fans. There are different types of characters ranging from elves to white mages, even dragons, all with different personalities! Not really for teens and older age groups. Good word choice and theme of writing for 7th grade level. ( )
