What is God's plan for a lonely woman stranded in the middle of the vast Montana prairie.

I liked this story. It had a little bit of history, took place "out West" in 1889, had romance, adventure and a good dose of seeing God's plan come together for many different people throughout the book. Julia Cavanaugh left New York riding the orphan train and delivering her girls across the west. At her final stop, Lonesome Prairie, she thought she would then be heading back East, but an unwanted "surprise" awaits her and she finds herself stuck in Lonesome Prairie, Montana.

Isaac is the respected circuit preacher in this town who has a heart for the ministry and seeing lives changed. Even though his two sisters keep trying to find him a wife, Isaac has no plans to marry. Now you know where this is going to go, but to get to the ending that you are expecting there is alot that takes place. This isn't just a story of Julia and Isaac, but of several other characters in the book also. It was well written and gave a good idea of what it must have been like to live in Lonesome Prairie in 1889. A delightful adventure that is well worth the time it takes you to read it. ( )

This is my first Love Finds You book but it definitely won't be my last. The characters are well written and the story is a fun, light read. I especially like that it is a Christian Historical Fiction with a message about putting your faith in God. I think this is a book that everyone, no matter their religious beliefs, will enjoy. ( )

Goyer and Fleiss did an outstanding job with this one! This is the first Love Finds You novel that I have had the pleasure of reading and let me tell you this: I'M HOOKED!!!!

Goyer and Fleiss tell the story of two lonesome souls in Lonesome Prairie. One is an orphaned gaurdian of destitute girls who are on the orphan train to Montana to find new homes. The other, a lonely widowed circuit preacher who made a vow to God to never take another wife. Goyer and Fleiss use historical scenes to set the plot of this book. They blend their characters together to compliment the setting in wonderous way. Through the wonderful characters, they unfold the meaning of the story: finding a sense of belonging, trusting God's will and faith; the true meaning of love and family.

I really hated to say goodbye to these beautifully woven characters! It is a wonderful christian novel that I give 5 stars and two thumbs up to! ( )

Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss delights readers once again with their touching addition to the Loved Finds You series, Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana.

In 1889, nineteen year old Julia Cavanaugh, leaves New York to travel on the orphan train to unite the young girls in her charge with their new families. Once arriving in Lonesome Prairie, Julia soon realizes that twelve year old Shelby has been overlooked and will be separated from her young sister Bea. Not knowing what to do, and trying to avoid Horace, Julia shows up at the home of the Parson’s sisters. Not wanting to disrupt Shelby and Bea while they settle into their new family Julia is ask to stay in the mud house belonging to Parson Isaac. Alone for the first time in her life Julia is determined to find her way back to New York and her the woman who has been like a mother to her. Although Julia has one plan fate seems to have another. She soon finds herself becoming a part of Isaac's family as well as falling for the Parson himself. Julia soon feels rejected by Isaac when she learns of the vow he has made to God stating that he will never marry. After learning that his first wife died, Julia finally works up the courage to ask only once again feeling rejected. Soon Isaac realizes that Julia is the love of his life will he be able to reach her before she boards her train?

Love Finds in Lonesome Prairie, Montana is a pure delight filled with the God’s grace. Tricia Goyer and Ocieanna Fleiss has provided a wonderful message that will enlighten reader. I enjoyed reading as Julia’s character grew in her faith as she learns the difference between believing in God and trusting in God. A true gem that sparkles on every page with carefully crafted characters and believable situations. Miriam’s quite calm provided a soothing calm to rough surrounding landscape. Truly a book that all should read.

Love Finds You in Lonesome Prairie, Montana is a cross between Janette Oke and Catherine Marshall. I have to say that this has been my favorite book of the year, one that I would love to see be made into a movie.
