Diana Donato is at it again! In the fourth book of the CINDERELLA CLEANERS series, Diana gets the chance to go to a charity ball called Hunger Unmasked. The masquerade theme fits beautifully for Diana, since someone has left a gorgeous dress at the cleaners so long that it has gone to the "No Pickup" rack.
The ball will give her a chance to do what she likes best - act, and it's Halloween! Fortunately for Diana and her friend, Jess, Nelson has returned to the cleaners to do part-time tailoring, and he's willing to help them alter their dresses and show them how to make masks.
There is a lot of action in this new installment, because not only does the ball threaten to overtake all of Diana's time and energy, but she is also dealing with the usual plethora of issues. For one, she doesn't have the hundred-and-fifty dollars it takes to buy tickets for the ball. Can she depend on her friend, Amelia, to sneak her and her date in?
Though she knows that's not the best way to get in, the chance that Adam Kessler (the movie star crush she met in the first book) will be there is too much to resist! If that's not enough, she doesn't really want to go to the ball alone, but when she has a chance to ask her friend, Will, she gets tongue-tied. Can she and Will become more than just friends?
As usual, Diana's family plays a strong part in the book. Among other things, she is learning to get along with her stepmother, missing her own mom, and starting to see her dad from a more mature point of view.
MASK APPEAL is a nice, quick read guaranteed to keep readers hooked from beginning to end! ( )
