I was hung up on the Rhubarb pie and frijoles being the grand prize I thought that was really funny. I would have loved this book if I read it as a kid, it would probably be engrained in my head. ( ) Recommended by a friend as her/her child's favorite Christmas story. It is wonderful. For me, knowing a little less about the New Mexican specific cultural things, it took a *little* explaining to *really* get it - but it is wonderful even without the explanations. (though if you want to do a little research on some of the characters, I think it's worth your while!) Jack has fallen in love and wants to marry Rosita. The book provides students with competition and playing fair. Never giving up and looking for different ways to accomplish your goals. Always keep in mind what you want. It also provides students with imagination about the future and present. Folk tale characters are from the Hispanic background, geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Competing for the hand of the lovely Rosita and her rhubarb pie, Juan rides a Jackalope in a race against Pecos Bill. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
