I vaguely remember this one from my childhood reads. It was so cute that he would try his hardest to sing but no one could actually stand to hear him (sounds me) and then start to disappear. What throws it for a loop is that he seals don't seem to care that they are all disappearing but rather selfish enough to think that it is all the best for them. And then when Trapper is left alone he works to find the mystery while finding out that being alone isn't all fun and games. Fortunately the way that Trapper saves the day with its own beautiful lesson is also a save for the book. This book is about seals getting taken. The monster that is taking them wants them for there singing. He likes to collect beautiful things. It's up to Trapper to show him that if he leaves those beautiful things out in nature then everyone else can enjoy them. This would be an ok book to read for earth day. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

Unfortunately, these seven tended towards the sappy and simple, instead of the imaginative and adventurous of the ones my Mom read. Perhaps she picked the best ones. Perhaps it is my own glossy memory of childhood. But the ones like Muffin Muncher, Wheedle on the Needle, Maui-Maui, and The Savepotmus are better. Still, owning these is important to me and I am glad I have them. ( )
