I was drawn to this book because of it's mob and biker gang story-line. The two combined were intriguing. I was curious on how this story would go. A mob boss's daughter... defecting to a motorcycle gang to stay safe from her own family.
First, I was enthralled with the plot... The Alex's family was interesting. Her relationship with them was perfect for this story-line. She loved her family, but being the girl of the family, she was always more in the shadows than the forefront. Her father is an old-fashioned Italian mob man. Alex wants to be a modern day girl. She wants to get out and live. She wants to fall in love. However, that is not the life she is afforded. Her dad has other plans for her. Marrying into the mob, officially, is what he plans for her life. His belief is a woman is to know her place. Alex, well, knows her place, but doesn't know it one bit.
Things go awry. Trust is broken between Alex and her family... well her dad, brother and cousin. Alex is now forced into hiding from her own family. She is scared and confused. She thought she made the right decision. That decision, instead of helping her family, has put her life on the line... she now fears her own family may want her life.
Alex felt like an outcast in her own home. Now she is thrust into a new world, where she feels just as out of place. She slowly starts to learn that embracing a life you didn't know could exist can free your inner soul.
Enter Ryan. These two are drawn together, but know the rules. They are off-limits to one another. This makes them want each other even more. They both struggle, for the same and different reason, to stay away. As they slowly form a bond, things start to get intense. Their newly found friendship could cost them both important things. It could also cost them both their lives.
This story is an emotional roller coaster. I was so glad to be on this ride. J.C. did a fantastic job in going from one scenario to the next. Her ability to portray the characters' feelings and actions is remarkable. Their interactions are very convincing and realistic. The twists and turns in the plot can someone been foreseen, if paying enough attention, but shocking nonetheless. As things start to really come to a head, many life changing secrets have been revealed, and Alex's family has come for her.... And, that folks, is where the book ends...
I am highly recommending this book to anyone who likes to read... no matter what you like to read. This is a wonderful book. I cannot wait to read the next book. I need to know what happens next.... I have a feeling I may need a tissue or two!!!

Who else has read J.C.'s other work? I couldn't wait to get my greedy hands on this one. I am a huge fan of J.C.'s! Let start off a little different. Before I delve into my thoughts on the book, I want to discuss the author's previous work. (Don't worry, I have my reasons.) The past books I have read of hers have been gritty and captivating. They are more down and dirty reads. So those nay-sayers who didn't like her previous works, you don't need to overlook this one. It's nothing like her other works, I promise!

Okay.. On to this book. I am sitting here smiling as I try to figure out what can be said and what I need to leave out. We all love a good love story. Many love the fireman theme.,.. Me? I don't care the theme, so long as it isn't cheesy! No cheese here. I swear. Firemen. Flirting. Stalkers. Psycho girlfriends. This book has many great characteristics right off the bat that should have you ready to read.

This book had me from the first page. Engaging. Intriguing. Witty banter. I was hooked immediately! The story-line will have your heart pounding and your mind racing. I mean, come on... Unrequited love... Phycho stalker... Two brothers lusting after the same girl. It's guaranteed to not be boring, ever!

This story evolves in just the right way. J.C. kept me wanting more the whole way through. I will admit, I wasn't a Jameson fan a couple of times in the book. Although some situations fit his character, I just didn't like his excuse making for his actions. Typical male in that aspect. Pull up your pants and be a big boy!

The only thing I wasn't fond of was the ending... I am not going to give you the ending. For me, the ending didn't fit. There is a psycho stalker-arsonist after them throughout the book... One would expect there to be a HUGE cliffhanger. Now before you cliffhanger haters start griping, hear me out. I don't care what someone's feelings are on cliffhangers. Some storylines require them. They make the story that more powerful. I get that this is supposed to be a standalone, but really, it should have left me hanging a little harder. I wanted my jaw to plummet to the ground. I wanted to cuss at my Kindle. I just needed more.

Overall, this is a wonderful book. It is very entertaining and there is no dull moment in the story. My advice? One-click it. Soon. Immediately. On payday. Whenever. Just do it.

You know how sometimes with series where, even though each book is a different character from the same story, they start to fall off somewhere? Well, that's not the case here. This book has me from the very beginning.

I enjoyed the ride these characters took me on. Not only did we get up, close and personal with Jeremy and Cheyenne, but we got more pieces to the ever building puzzle in the Mancuzzo drama.

Jeremy's determination in being patched and Cheyenne's determination to be in Jeremy's life, even if it is forbidden, definitely makes for an interesting story. I couldn't put this one down!

There were parts where I absolutely loved Jeremy.... Then there were parts, not so much. But that was the point, right? The story can't be all unicorns and rainbows. This book is raw, gritty, dirty and heartwarming all in one!

JC never seems to disappoint me! This book has been on my mind for DAYS! I absolutely adored this book! I can't decide if I like this or Ride better! This is another MUST read!

Holly and Grady's story is p-e-r-f-e-c-t! This book could not have been any better! These two unlikely characters falling into one another is not something they expected, but we, the readers, know better! Opposites attract! Especially in these books!

Their relationship heats up slowly throughout the entire book, meanwhile, the threats of the Mancuso's and others are all around them! The biker vs mob in this series is phenomenal! The theme continues throughout each story. I also love how well JC is able to overlap these books. They don't pick up where the one before left off, but they also don't cover all of the same time-frame either! Genius!

I am looking forward to reading Crush next...

I am not always a fan of series where each one follows a different person or couple. However, this one is an exception to that! I absolutely adored this story! It not only gave us some insight to characters we met in the first book, but we got more of what was going on in different areas during all of the drama from before.

This book doesn't shadow the first book. It more enhances the first book. We get to see some different reactions to situations that we saw before. They, in no way, mirror the situations from the first book. They give us even more insight to what was occurring during that same time.

I loved the characters and their relationships. Nicole is a badass woman. She has worked very hard to keep a home for her younger brother. She is strong and determined to keep her head straight and keep her brother on the straight and narrow.

Jeremy is a foul-mouthed, hormonal teenager. He lives for causing some trouble. He is your typical rebellious boy. Giving his sister and those around here is pretty much his full-time gig.

Then there is Duke. The "forever single" member of the Forsaken. He and Nicole have known each other for most of their lives. They have always been drawn to one another. His single-status has always been something he prided himself on.

The relationship that Nic and Duke have is not one of flowers and dinners. It is more primal and untrusting. Their lives have taught them not to trust. So when one wants one thing and the other cannot trust that things will work out positively, you have the drama you were looking for.

Ride is the first book in a series.  It is a combo mob/MC book so double the tough
men.  Also it has some fun Italian phrases.





The story begins with Alexandra Mancuso, daughter
of Carlo Mancuso, the boss of the Mancuso crime family.  Although 19 years old, she is very sheltered
and is always told exactly what to do by her father.  She has a twin brother who, unlike Alex, is
allowed to be part of their father’s business and have a nightlife the way young
adults do.  Alex happens to get caught up
in some mob business by total chance and lets the wrong thing slip.













Ryan, third-generation Forsaken MC, which was
actually started by his grandfather, is worried about nothing except riding and
having fun until Alex is thrown into his life, sparking instant attraction;
although, Ryan is against being tied down no matter how strong the
connection.  Alex is labeled off limits
to him right from the start at the sake of his cut, but being told what he
can’t do makes Ryan want her all the more. 
He’s not one to follow rules from anyone. At the same time, knowing what
she could cost him, makes him fight it even harder.
