- Korte biografie
- E.M. (Ethel Mary) de Foubert was born in Cork, Ireland, the daughter of Walter Edward de Foubert, a clerk for the Cork Steam Packet Company, and his wife Mary Downey. In 1896, she graduated from Bedford College, London, and went to work as an English and history teacher at St.. George's School, Edinburgh. For a few years, she shared a house with her friend and fellow writer of girls' school stories, Ethel Talbot. After many years as a teacher, de Foubert retired and devoted herself full-time to writing, gardening, and keeping poultry.
