3 Stars
Basically for a strictly romance book it was okay.
Not enough of anything to make it memorable.
But nothing like editing errors ect. to bring down the rating from 3 stars.
It was an okay read.
There were some things I liked about both mc's but a lot that irritated me too.

The author actually comes off nervous to write a serious BDSM or Erotic scene. It kept building up like we were going to be blown away, only to be let down.

Not enough in the relationship to make you feel connected or even really care all that much for the mc's. Though it showed promise in the beginning it went down from there.

I seriously think if I had read this 10 ago, I would have enjoyed it a 'Tad' more.
I do wonder if the author got over her nervousness and ever wrote some truly hot and steamy erotica.

Keep in mind that I love having a good dose of suspense and intrigue in my romances and this had none of that.

Oh, another note, the author never let us know the ages of the mc's.
But since I read this in a buddy read in our Dark Erotica group, we discussed what we thought their ages were by their actions etc.
We came up with;
Shay-FMC-20-25
Leo-MMC-30-35

This one didn't do it for me, but as my GR friends know, I don't do just one book with an author an give up on them unless it was terrible.
I think this author shows enough artistry and ability to give her another go. I'm going to search for another of her books that she wrote more recently and give her another try sometime in the future.

I read this as part of the boxset. I am enjoying this series even more now that more of the story is falling in place. My earlier issues with Torian aren't the focus. This one definitely had two sides with secrets. I enjoyed the push and pull of Kierra and Decker. I did struggle a few times in regard to the all the reasons why they played each other but in the end, I definitely understood where the characters were coming from.

It continued with where the story had mainly broken off in the first book and rehashed that scene from a different perspective. I liked that. I am assuming the next book will be much the same. I look forward to seeing how Torian manipulates things. I have a funny feeling he is two steps ahead of both Decker and Hunter. for some reason, I think he is going to turn out to be my favorite even though he was the one that I struggled with in the beginning. I love it when an author can do that.… (meer)

I was right to assume that Torian would become my favorite of this series so far. I won't lie and say that I liked him from the beginning. I didn't. Yet, there was something about him as the pieces started falling in place that intrigued me. In this book, I get all the pieces and what I saw I REALLY liked. He does bad things and makes "morally bankrupt decisions. However, he isn't doing it out of malice but rather to protect. He is fiercely loyal and I like that. He isn't reprehensible. He made some valid points in defending who he is.

I didn't like Anissa in Decker's book. So when she first appeared in this one, I was a little irritated that she was going to be the love interest even though you really can't have better enemies to lovers relationship than a drug lord and a FBI agent. As the story progressed though. I really liked her. I could feel the chemistry between them and it felt authentic when both tried to fight it, especially, considering that these two are polar opposites in regard to how justice is meted out.

I was surprised on how this book ended. It ended, not really on a cliffhanger but rather a story that wasn't finished or resolved. Apparently, the ending won't happen until after the books Savior and Luca. I am excited about those stories, don't get me wrong, but I would have LOVED to get this one resolved first. Still, this was a great book. This entire series has been filled with suspense and a fantastic storyline. I read this as part of the boxset.

Hunter
4.4 stars

I read this as part of the Boxset. I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I started this series but I need I had to at least try it because the blurb had me very interested. Tons of suspense, secrets, and interesting characters. I liked the cat and mouse game between Sarah and Hunter, and how it was explained how he always found her.

My only real gripe was in regard to Torian. I wanted to understand who he was and who his organization was. Still, a great book.
