I love well-written books, period. I am drawn to character-driven stories and appreciate when the author gives me something to ponder. For the last ten years I have focused more of my time on both Russian and Persian literature and my library reflects this.

I am the author of Half a Cup of Sand and Sky. A Pen Literary Award Finalist, it is a tender portrait of one woman's search for love and belonging cast against a nuanced backdrop of political turmoil. Raised north of New York City in Garrison, I now live in Lund, Sweden, with my husband and twin daughters. I am the former editor of the Washington, DC-based journal Arms Control Today.
