Doctor Strange: Into Shamballa (Marvel Graphic… door J. M. DeMatteis

Art in this book is one of the most beautiful I ever saw (in same vein as The Redeemer (Elektra vs Logan) but more epic in my opinion). Story is intriguing and ending more than satisfying.

I had an opportunity to purchase this one together with one other Dr Strange graphic novel. If you manage to get your hands on a copy I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The New Defenders, Vol. 1 door Don Perlin

This is a good tonic for anyone starting to get nostalgic for 80s comics - it's pretty bad. For one thing, I remember The New Defenders being darker - more in line with the moody Sienkiewicz cover. But the inside of this was all primary-coloured elves. Weird. I guess it's interesting that the New Defenders must have been targeting a slightly older audience that had warm memories of the older X-Men, perhaps in the same way that the Defenders once targeted people who liked an earlier Marvel era where the Silver Surfer and Dr Strange were the cool cats, Daddy-o.… (meer)

Justice League Dark (2011-2015) Vol. 5: Paradise… door J.M. DeMatteis

I love all this magical stuff and learning more about the background of Deadman and Nightmare Nurse. Things seemed a little rushed with second arc though, but everyone beating up on Constantine for being an a-hole made up for it.
