Jan Gleiter was born in Wisconsin but grew up in Northern Virginia. She began writing children's books in the 1980s and branched out into adult fiction in the mid-90s. She lives in Chicago, Illinois, and currently works in the field of educational publishing. Over the years I collected several bilingual books and am now moving them into the care of my granddaughter who has expressed a desire to learn to read Spanish better.
The illustrations seem so 1970s, even though the book was first published in 1987.
