In this anthology we have amazing authors that I am dying to read all of these short stories. So far I have read Heir of Sin by Holly Renee….

Heir of Sin:

This brief taste of Emilia and Mateo is so delicious you crave to know more. Emilia is in a difficult situation with her incredibly cruel stepfather but to get the freedom that she not only craves but needs she has to do a job for him. She is to get Mateo to fall for her so her stepfather can take that family down. What Emilia wasn’t expecting was her intense connection and chemistry with Mateo, but with the way this short story ends we are left on pins and needles dying to see what will happen next. Will Emilia gain her freedom or has she just destroyed her only chance to escape her stepfather? What will happen between her and Mateo? I can’t wait for this duet to come out I just know it will be so good.

I can’t wait to read the others because I know they will truly be amazing.

Make You Mine by Shantel Tessier:

"She's like poison and magic rolled into one."

Alright now that a few days have passed and I’ve had time to recover I can review this one. This book, even though she’s chunky, is one that anybody who loves romance books should read. Like hands down it is the most beautiful, heartbreaking, tragic, perfect story. I loved literally everything about this book. And I hated this book so much. I cannot explain to you the emotional roller coaster this book had me on. I don’t think I’ve ever sobbed so much. I have never been so invested in characters! They felt so real. It was an amazing reading experience and worth the lack of sleep I got from staying up to finish it.

I don’t know what else I can really say besides the author does a fabulous job of giving us all the things we need in this story. At first I was annoyed with the high school element, but it’s not forever and honestly it is such a crucial piece of understanding the Lennon and Phoenix. I loved the way the characters both experienced some reasonable and believable changes in their lives. Also I love a good enemies to lovers, although this might be the first time I had a friends to lovers to enemies to lovers story. And if that hurt your head… just imagine what it’s going to do to your emotions.

This book was one of the few impossible to put down, I still think about this when I shouldn’t books that I’ve read in a long time. I cannot explain to you how much I simultaneously loved and hated Phoenix while reading this book. It’s honestly equal to my love/hate with the book… every single time I’d get excited because things were going well I would realize a lot of book was left for me to be wrecked with. Basically I highly recommend this book and enjoy your emotions being destroyed over and over.… (meer)

I don't know what it is about this book.
On one hand, I loved it. I love the story and it has some awesome "potential" however, it's very hard to connect with.
There is way too much interference by outside forces, and also, too much miscommunication between the MC's.
Too many assumptions, not enough explanations, anger at the stupidest things.
The outside forces being... the brother, the best friend, the blackmailer, the mob/bookie, Asher himself (on all fronts), all of this going on, makes it hard to connect to the characters.
Again, I loved the story, and I can see why it has some awesome reviews but, I think that people are ignoring the issues with the story, and just going by "overall" and I think it is important to prepare others for things not totally connecting, so they are ready to make those connections themselves.
Honestly, I hope they can make it work.
I hope they become a thruple because, honestly, Bre deserves to be happy FFS!… (meer)
