I enjoyed this book and found it to be even better the more I read. Written from a Christian perspective for women who are seeking meaning in their lives as well as for women who want to prioritize their faith.

The writing style is conversational and warm, with personal stories and powerful insights. Each chapter includes “Love Your Life Challenges” that offer tools, reflection questions, and practical action steps.

I have read a few other books written by Tracie Miles and enjoyed them all. Tracie is compassionate and encouraging. She shares her own experiences, which gives each book a personal invitation to peace and purpose.

This didn’t give me what I was hoping for. The author spent too much time during the early chapters referring to statistics and examples of stress and how it’s unhealthy. This isn’t something I needed to be convinced of, and especially since I picked up this book ready to seek out solutions for relieving stress.

I was looking for answers based on the subtitle: “Finding God’s peace in your chaotic world.” I felt the book didn’t offer specific strategies, but instead delivered generalities.

The book was just OK. Each chapter contained “Reflection Questions” which actually allowed for more depth and insight than what was provided in the chapters. For that reason, this would make a good book to be read by a group, followed by discussion.

Stress has always been a part of our existence. It's never been avoidable; There is also no denying that society today is more stressed out than ever, Which is why its so fitting for this edition of Miles' masterpiece to reappear on our raider. From its debut Stress Less Living has been a beautiful, deeply personal answer to our nations call for help.

Tracie Miles is an author I adore very much. With intelligently crafted prose and a deeply personal Miles forces us to take a step back for a moment, and to remember that there is only one place we must turn to for stress relief, for all things are possible through Christ.

Overall, Stress Less Living is an absolute must-have for any person dealing with stress. Even if you are not a Christian, the author gives many pieces of advice that can apply to anyone.

Thank you to netgalley for providing an e-copy for me to use in order to share my honest opinions. I am so happy to be able to honestly praise and support this author and such an amazing book.

This was such an encouraging book for anyone who struggles with negative thoughts. The author writes warmly from her own experiences which is always better than reading an often dry how-to lecture. She also uses actual examples from others who have lived through difficult situations, which provides plenty of issues and how they were successfully handled. At the conclusion of every chapter there are bible verses pertaining to God's faithfulness and growing our faith, as well as journal-type questions to help you work through issues, if you wish. This would make a great group study, too. I read this book in the morning as part of my devotional time, so there are several ways this book can be used to great benefit for every reader. I just bought three copies to share with friends, as I think it's the kind of book that is not only helpful but also hopeful and supportive.

I really enjoyed this book and loved the insight the author had about our negative thoughts. We all go through trials and sometimes it is hard to have a good attitude. No matter what our circumstances are, we can choose to have a positive attitude or choose to allow the enemy to take us further into despair. In this book the author gives us tools to help us overcome our fears and learn to have a great attitude.

I loved the authors examples from her own life and others to help us see how anyone can get trapped in thinking we have done something wrong, have anger issues, depression or whatever else the enemy wants to throw at us. I never thought about how my unhappy face or thoughts were affecting me. I loved when the author addressed an issue I have struggled with all my life. My parents always told me I was stupid, ugly and would never amount to anything. That has stayed with me for way to long. "If we listen to all this negative self-talk , which is not from God, we might end up sinking into an ocean of discouragement and hopelessness and feeling that we can never swim our way out of peaceful waters."

I like the study at the end of each chapter. The author recaps what the subject was, asks a few questions for us to think on and gives us scriptures to reinforce God's word. The book is filled with testimonies that show us that are others are going through similar issues. We need to always be alert to the traps of the enemy. I know for me it is that small voice saying I'm not good enough. I loved when the author said, "If we aren't mentally and spiritually prepared for battle, it is unlikely we will win. " I thought about the men and women who are serving our country . They have to always be prepared for battle, be alert and not let their guard down. I am encouraged after reading this book that I can change my thinking, become more positive and live a life of freedom. The catch is, I have to do my part. I have to choose not to listen to the enemy and fall for his tricks.

"Life is not always as we think it should be, but it is always as God planned it to be."

I received a copy of this book from LitFuse. The review is my own opinion.

i received this book as an advance copy and i have got to say that every page touched my heart. it seemed like no matter what subject the author was writing on i felt her hand on my soul. this is a very deep book that reaches into the parts of the soul that has been so badly bruised and soothes it with a balm. i felt that this book was an excellent choice for me to have been blessed with. there were so many ways that they author approached each section of pain. she told a story about her own life, a story about another woman's pain and then had a study at the end to explore it even deeper. because of the time constraint of having to read to give this review i was unable to do the study but because it was so deep i am anxious to re-read it and take my time with digging deeper. i just can't say enough good about the readability of the book, the compassion and genuineness of the author and the many ways in which this book had a part in beginning to heal some of my many hurts. this is a book that any woman who has been hurt should read and i think that could be all of us. excellent beyond words.

I received an advance reading copy of this book -- after several attempts to read it and connect with the message the author is putting forth. It felt more like a textbook due to end of the chapter purpose pondering. Perhaps I am not in the right time in my life for this book and message. I did not finish the book.

A powerful book; especially for those women who had difficult past situations! God is working in these pages and should prove to be helpful to anyone going through rough times. Healing and freedom can be found and is within reach for those who need help. This book points folks in the right direction and is appreciated! Thanks to Tracie Miles for her insights.

WOW! An amazing book. I read then reread it. There are some areas that offered great insight into my own life as the author shared hers. I laughed and cried as I read through the book. I would heartily recommend it to women who have made poor choices in their youth and are struggling with the consequences of those choices. It is a book that will help many on the road to recovery from past mistakes.

This was a powerful book. People with regret and shame can be comforted and know that God still loves them and can use them for His glory. Many examples from women who have given their past to God and now are being used in ministries all over. Even if you haven't had a horrific past, people all around us may be hurting and need to feel God's love. God can use you if you let Him.½

Many times we look at other women and marvel at how confident and strong they are, wishing we could be more like them. Little do we know, they – like us – are wearing a mask. Underneath they are struggling with feelings of fear, regret, shame, hurt, insignificance, and more. Tracie Miles’ book, Your Life Still Counts, takes us where we are and gently guides us into using our past to create a future of freedom, peace, and joy.

Tracie uses her own story (she was a pregnant teenager and had an abortion) and stories from other women to help us recognize ourselves – where we are stuck and where can be. She also includes exercises (“Purpose Ponderings”) at the end of each chapter with questions to answer, Bible verses to read, and activities to move us forward.

If you are wearing a mask of any kind and you’re stuck in a horrible cycle of pain and anger, it’s time to take charge and change your future. You may not think you can, but by using Tracie’s book and taking one little step at a time, you can be a confident and strong woman.

I especially appreciated Tracie’s book because it reminded me that everyone has something they’re dealing with and everyone needs compassion – no matter how together they look on the outside.

I began reading this book, thinking that it was aimed at the general reader who may or may not have a God-centered point of view of life. But once finished I think it best serves the person who has at some point or another made a commitment to Christ, and is now unsure of how he or she is perceived by God, perhaps because of doubts about their own spiritual walk, or because an experience from the past continually comes back to thwart their spiritual growth. I think this happens in virtually every Christian's life at some point or another as the author points out - the devil is very good at planting seeds of doubt about God's unfailing love - and as our society is based upon performance it is easy to believe that one's sins and failures put one outside of God's encompassing love. But this is a lie - as the author reiterates throughout her book - and she encourages each person to find the way that God will use the experiences of one's life - both good and bad - to His Glory. The format includes the author's personal story, her scriptural backup for what she says, and the stories of other women who have faced sin and challenges and experiences that have been used to bring glory to God as He redeems the situations. Purpose Ponderings at the end of each chapter provide opportunities for the reader to work through his or her own issues. While clearly aimed at women, this book can also be beneficial to male readers.½

I can't give this book the kind of review it probably deserves - for two reasons. First, I am not a woman, and it is definitely written for women. Second, my life has no tremendous scar (so perhaps, according to the book, God has no great use for me). I am handing the book to another who is in more of a position to evaluate it (she is a woman with great pain in her past). As she reads it and discusses it with me, perhaps I will be in a better position to write a more meaningful review.
