Not too shabby of a Clint & Kate adventure, although I'm a little confused about the takeaway. Getting a look at Clint's backstory was interesting and I actually like the dreamy, sometimes eerie pastel colors those portions were done in. And the banter was fun, as ever! However, the present-day plot felt a little vague? I just didn't feel much substance behind it other than a way to emphasize what happened in Clint's past. Also, the last couple pages with that time jump felt SO STRANGE. I don't even know what to make of that.… (meer)
The art was amazing, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as Fraction's. Maybe that's just because this was my first comics series and I haven't seen a lot to compare it to though.
The book a score of 9 out of 10 and praised its art, storytelling, and surrealism.

I have some mixed feelings about parts of this run under Lemire, but this volume was much better than the last. There were some pieces here and there I wasn't crazy about. Plus, I'm STILL not sure whether the timeline 30 years in the future was just a "this could have happened" or a "this DID happen", and that's confusing. But I love Kate and Clint so much, and I enjoyed the exploration of their relationship in this volume.
