Upbeat, encouraging and eye opening in many ways. Definitely recommended for anyone in education and for anyone with interests in black studies or perhaps sociology. Maybe a bit dry if you are not in those areas. It is set up as a textbook.

As a Caucasian mother to a son who identifies multi-culturally I am always trying to educate myself on how to raise him to have a healthy understanding of his ethnicity and empowering him to rise above stereo-types, racism and discrimination. I was looking for ways to gain advocacy skills and this book is one I would recommend to everyone. I was also very happy to see how faith played a significant role in the success of many of the students. I highly recommend this educational tool for parents, teachers and friends.… (meer)
