This book has a violent sexual attack scene on the h....so fair warning if that's not your game. It was as good as the first book. I just wish the epilogue included Kyzer getting to meet his cell mate Bubba!

Neely had her fair share of struggles, at just fourteen she had to deal with her parents splitting up, her mom drinking to oblivion, there was one thing that helped her get through it though, Seth, her best friend turned boyfriend. Now things take a turn and they are both crushed.
Listening to this, I really felt for Neely, no child should have to witness her mother turning to alcohol, and then trying to kill herself. But then the upheaval of being moved away from Seth, who was her rainbow in her storm cloud must have been devastating.
It was truly quite sad. However, it was narrated very well by Rachelle Williams, her accents were great. There was great character building and the scenes were set perfectly.
I am eager to listen to the next in the series, this can’t be it for Neely and Seth, surely?

My story is about when they did. About when the truth about Avery Dawson came to light with his congregation witnessing the proof of his evil ways.

Southern Comfort
by Andrea Smith

My review:

This review Will contain light spoilers.

This book is about Sociopathy. And Religious Hypocrisy. It is about dishonesty, fakery and secrets all wrapped in a pretty and duplicitous bow.

The bow of the Catholic Church.

This story takes place in a small town in Alabama in the Nineteen Seventies. Sunny is the main character. She is a High School student whose mom has married.

Her step dad is the preacher of the local church. And his exterior does not match his interior at all. He is a disturbed and pathological individual. Sunny knows this. The people in this small town do not know this.

This is a very good book and I do not want anyone thinking otherwise despite my three rating. (Man, I wish Goodreads had 1-10 star ratings!).

It is extremely upsetting..Misogyny in the form of Religion. I am sure, as constant readers, many of you have read your share of books with this theme.

This story is about how Sunny decides to take him down.

It was tough reading and I did not love everything about it.But it is a GOOD read and very relevant. I think many will like this.

I sure liked Sonny and enjoyed reading about her. Two things I did not like?

One..the volume of sex in this book was to much for me. It was not happy sex. It was sex between a Sociopath and his clueless victims. And I just felt it was to much.

Also..and I realize this is my humble opinion only..but the word "Dick" is not erotica. Not for me anyway. I never understood why a man's..well..you get it..was called that. It makes the male anatomy sound goofy. When I think of the word "Dick" I think of a sign that used to exist on my street that was spray painted with one word: Dick. And it was glow in the dark spray paint so one could only see it at night. I used to laugh about it. But sadly, the word "Dick" is used here to describe the evil preacher's private part, over and over. I started to laugh. I mean..lots of other better words. Can we, as the cancel culture we have sort of become, cancel the word Dick? Please? Please?

The second thing I disliked..the preacher is a nasty business. He is such a scumbag it made reading about him tough. It is worth it though to see how the story progresses. I like how the writer wraps things up. Very well done.

I am sure this type of town exists all over. What really makes this book good, is that the writer is unafraid in exploring the good and bad in many of her characters. They come off as very human and the story, sadly is utterly believable. The writer also says it is loosely based on a true story.

And lastly, the book is available on Amazon as "The Preacher" although I like Southern Comfort better as a title.

3.5 stars and not a read I will forget any time soon.½

Not my cup of book.
Can't remember what possessed me to start reading Hard Edit, considering the controversy few years back, but even setting all the commotion aside, I could not get into into the book. DNF at 18%.

I loved Larson and Troy in Black Balled. I laughed out loud. Then re-read parts out loud to whoever was within shouting distance. Then I gifted the book - saying ignore the noise - this is some bone shaking funny stuff to read. And then to hear from a trusted book friend there would be more Troy and Larson? The heavens opened and angels sang (or at least at my house they did).

First, you need to read Black Balled. In all seriousness, Ms LeNoir and Smith so carefully fold you into the story you can almost read this story as a standalone. But as a public service, DONT DO IT. You need to really understand how they got from there to here. And here is so much more. Andrea Smith and Eva LeNoir give us that 'more' all readers want when they find flawed yet entirely lovable characters from a previous story. You want to see growth and vulnerability laid out as the reader goes on their "what happens after the HEA" journey. Although ridiculously funny at times, as the reader you love to see these two feel insecure about things that are real. Make decisions that impact the course of their lives as individuals and partners.

With all our bickering and ego battles, there is one thing we are always good at, no matter the circumstances, and that's loving each other. We may not be conventional in the way we show it, but we both feel it with every fiber of our being.

Both have egos larger than Manhattan and in all sense of things right and true should not be together, but their relationship just works. And that book friends is what every true romance reader wants their story to give them and these two authors do not disappoint.

Is it really over? I mean I read "The End" but there is so much more story to be had. I can see it. So, if the question: Shall I be bugging the sh*t out of the authors for more? It is a definitive yes. I mean the ending - Troy and Larson have so so much more mileage to go. Once you finish you'll see it.

Now for the part I don't like: Yep, I checked for 'noise' again. Do yourself a favor, look at the dates, and weigh the reviews on someone who actually has a verified purchase after the release date. Or maybe someone like me who likes books you like and gives an honest review of a book they actually read.

Read Black Balled, Read Guns Blazing then Read Hard Edit. They are funny, interesting characters with highly entertaining stories to love. 5 out of 5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book. I would have liked to have seen more character depth for Slate. I also wish we would have seen more resolution with Jack and Susan. I loved the epilogue that was included at the end. I was so happy to see how things turned out for Diamond Girl though. I thoroughly enjoyed this book despite the things mentioned above.

When life gives you lemons make diamonds out of it… No I know that’s not how the saying goes but its what the heroine did in this book.

Forced into a marriage in her teens due to getting pregnant in high school Samantha Dennison is lost now that her daughter has gone to college. In a love less marriage for 18 years and feeling frumpy Sammie’s best friend convinces her to start living her own life. Sammie jumps into kickboxing, pilates and finally pole dancing. The later leads to her taking a job dancing at a gentleman’s club. Yes, the mousy housewife has become the pole dancer Diamond. Diamond has come under the attention of bad boy biker Slate. She’s never been attracted to a “bad boy” before as she skipped that phase of her life by marrying so young. Now here she is at 35 just experiencing these things along with her first orgasm.

There is a lot more to this story than the book blurb would lead you to believe. Its chock full of domestic abuse, undercover ops, betrayal, and lots of sexy scenes between Sammie and Slade.

The quirky situations that Sammie finds herself in thoroughly keep you entertained through out the book. And as those situations constantly change you are turning those pages fast to see what’s going to happen next. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

Author packs a gut-wrenching moment in the midst of two people falling in love that don’t really believe in it and from the surface don’t look to have anything in common.

Lindsey Dennison and Trace "Taz" Matthews – Lindsey is the 19 year old daughter of Samantha Dennison (from Diamond Girl) and 28 year old Taz is Eric “Slate” Slater best friend and partner in the FBI and also married to Samantha. Lindsey is now in her junior year of college and home for her mom’s wedding to Eric. After drinking too much at their reception Taz gives her a ride home which takes a detour in so many ways. Taz doesn’t believe in relationships. He’s happy just to screw and move on to the next one. So when he can’t get his mind off of Lindsey, even though she should be off limits for so many reasons, the two embark in a strictly hidden sexual relationship with no strings attached. Well Taz crosses over from sexual alpha to possessive alpha in no time – which was hot BTW. During this there are strange things happening to Lindsey that make Eric and Taz think that her on the run father is behind and the investigation of this leads to a shocking conclusion with devastating consequences for Lindsey that rip your heart out.

Eric and Samantha – We get a great deal of face time of these two. They now have a infant son and are going strong in their marriage. I really liked how the author showed us the relationship between Lindsey and Sam and Eric – how it had progressed since the first book and how strong the bond between mother and daughter was even when it was tested with a few things that come up in the book.

This was so much more than the love story between Lindsey and Taz. You are pulled into this book right from the start and realize you’re not going to get be able to get off this train until it stops even when there is a big derailment (head the authors warning in the synapses of this book ) that rips your heart out you know you have to stay on to see the conclusion.

Nightmoves takes us out of the undercover world and bring us more into the corporate world of the rich.

The characters this time around are Darcy Sheridan (Lindsey’s best friend from Love Plus One) and Easton Matthews (who is Taz’s step brother from Love Plus One). Even though Darcy and Lindsey are the same age you can certainly tell that Lindsey was worlds ahead of her in life skills. Darcy is a good person but coming from parents who had her late in life she has been spoiled beyond belief and is shocked when they tell her she is going to have to start at the bottom of the family company that she thought she would immediately assume possession of when her father retired. Darcy doesn’t quite know how to handle this and it’s at this point she finally starts to mentally mature. Easton wasn’t raised in the states and he’s richer than rich and has sex when and where he wants. I wasn’t very fond of him for the first part of the book I mean who has sex in the ladies bathroom at your brother’s wedding rehearsal and isn’t even bothered when he is caught Even when Darcy and Easton start an intense sexual relationship he is still a bit too arrogant and in some ways was punishing Darcy for something that wasn’t her fault. This is one of those books its almost the very end before the hero finally redeems himself. Once Easton’s childhood and where he come from come to light you begin to understand why he is the way he is but it was almost to late for me to really care.

The feel of this book was very different from the first two. It seemed like it didn’t belong in this series except for the relation of the characters from the first two books. I liked that Sammie, Slate, Taz and Lindsey still played a big part during this book especially at the end when the story arc of Lindsey’s father was finally concluded which led for some suspenseful scenes with Slate and Taz going into G-Man mode.

Overall I’ve enjoyed this series and will never forget my introduction to this author when I first read Diamond Girl. I look forward to seeing what’s coming next..

In this new series the heroine finds out that she has a special gift which will be the basis of all the future books. Parrish Locke has been a model for years. At 27 she cant complain with her career but knows its time to start thinking about a new one. On a dark wintery night Parrish crashes her car into a cemetery and her life changes.

Parrish meets a ghostly woman when she awakes after the accident. Its from here that the story changes to that of the life of Karlie and Dominic. Their very unconventional love story is told to us from Karlie’s POV and what a story it is. Their story takes place over about 70% of the book and you almost forget about how we are being told this story.

As this was the first book in the series there was defiantly a huge twist but it sets the stage for all the future books. I enjoyed both aspects – the paranormal and the contemporary romance – of the book and look forward to seeing who Parrish helps in the future books.

This is such a great series! The first book Silent Whisper blew me away with the concept and it only got better in Clouds In My Coffee . In the first book we find out Parrish has a gift of not only communicating with the dead but to actually living and experiencing their life up until their death. The majority of the first book was in the past with just a small amount in the present but in this one we get more time with Parrish and get to meet a very sexy FBI agent.

One of the best parts of this series is getting two stories in one. When Parrish is taken over and living the life of the deceased we get a great but tragic love story. This time the couple was high school kids from the ’70. Two kids that had grown up together as best friends that turned into love but with major bumps along the way that ended with one of them dying.

For this one a lot more investigative work needed to be done once Parrish “returned” and this introduced us to a new character, FBI agent Marco Trevani Jr. Marco helped Parrish bring justice to the dead girl along with being a new love interest for Parrish and let me tell you these two were smoking hot together. I’m hoping that Marco is going to be part of series from here on.

As with the first book in the series I was spellbound from beginning to end. Its one of those books where you find yourself reading faster to find out what’s going to happen next but yet not wanting it to end. I cant wait to see what person Parrish helps in the future and to see where her and Marco are headed in their relationship.

I’m on the fence with this one. I’ve always enjoyed this series and Taz and Lindsey went through so much in their book Love Plus One that they deserved the HEA they got at the end. I usually look forward to getting another book about a favorite couple to see where they are. I don’t even mind some angst in a new book but I wasn’t fond of what was used to be the main issue that almost broke up their marriage in this one. In thinking back now even if that part would have been left out the book would still have worked on providing enough angst to cause a problem in their marriage. Taz taking the undercover job knowing he was going to be away from his wife and kids for weeks, then his cover being blown and his losing his memory due to the drugs being injected into him. I liked that the bad guys even tied back to Lindsey’s father story and we finally got complete resolution to that. I get that the overall picture here was to show that love does conquer all and that the love Taz and Lindsey have for each other was strong enough to withstand another horrible circumstance but the cheating even though he didn’t know he was cheating could have been left out.

Well reading this has firmed my decision that I never want to go on a cruise (laughing here).. That was some serious funny stuff that happened on the cruise. Now it wasn’t all fun and games.. There were plenty of fights and make up sex too. But in the end the love that each couple has for each other was very evident and sigh worthy.. Every couple we’ve met over the course of the series, Slate and Samantha, Lindsay & Taz, Darcy & Easton, Colin & Ronnie and Eli & Cain, are all on the cruise and each get their own POV throughout.. Loved this wrap up and looking forward to what’s next from this author.

Walk of Shame kicks off what I hope will be a series about the children of the couples from the G-Man Series.

Weston Matthews (the son of Darcy and Easton) is now 21 and in college. As Easton was not my favorite of the G-Men I was curious how I would like Weston.. Ended up I really liked him. Yes at first it looks like he is the typical man whoring jock that needs a tutor to keep his grades up so he can play hockey but its not long before we see that he is a good man, brother and friend whose just been a little lost on deciding what his long term future goals are.

Peyton was quite the interesting character. From a very early age she has never understood why males are considered for many more things that females. Her views got even more warped when she lost her mother at an early age and her father married a woman for looks and companionship over love. Her views on sex and relationships is pretty messed up. She is a highly intelligent woman who double mastering and going for a third. She decides for her thesis she wants to prove a point and after getting another college to agree she goes in undercover as Penny Lane, a ugly nerd to prove her theory on male stereotypical thinking and treatment. Her main test subject is Weston who she tutors under the disguise of Penny.

Even though I loved Weston and how his views on women and relationships change through out the story I really loved Peyton's story (she had an even more traumatic experience happen when she was younger) and Weston's sister Carson's story (who had a traumatic thing happen to her in this book). On the outside these two projected tough exteriors but are a bit broken on the inside and neither ended up being some broken down person that needed someone else to fix them – they recognized it eventually and took the steps needed to get back on track (well Peyton did – I am hoping we get the rest of Carson's story in a future book).

**THIS IS NOT A ROMANCE** That being said its so worth the read even though it creeped me out more times than I care to admit. No, its not a thriller or about a serial killer. Its about a preacher who preys on vulnerable women and whose 17 year old step daughter makes it her life mission to bring his injustices out into the open.

The author chose to tell this story from both the 17 year old Sunshine Gardner's POV and the Minister, Avery Dawson POV. Yes, you get a front row seat to his sick twisted mind.

This mainly is Sunny's story from being an unhappy 17 year old high schooler who no longer gets along with her mom since she married her 3rd husband. She cannot stand Avery and when he tries to start imposing strict rules on her things get even worse at home for her. He also gives her the creeps and she has a feeling he isnt who he pretends to be.

There are a few shocking twist towards the end that leads up to one heck of a confrontation.

This book was different than anything else I've read in a while. I don't quite know how to categorize it. It's got a little bit of a paranormal element, but it's not a paranormal romance. There are some elements that go back in time, but it's not a time travel. And I wouldn't say it was romantic suspense either.

You basically have 2 storylines going on here at the same time. The first concerns 27 y/o model, Parrish Locke. I have to say that I didn't care for her. And what 27 y/o says thins like "Whatevs" and "Yeppers"? Please tell me I'm not that old yet, b/c I felt ancient reading her parts. Then you have Karlie and Dominic (can't tell you who they are w/o giving away a spoiler) and their story takes place in the 80s amid mafiosos, perms, shoulder pads and banana clips. I liked their part of the story... and was disappointed when it kinda ended.

This book is the first in a series, and it appears that future books will continue with the same trope - modern girl helping the deceased carry out their unfinished business. Will I keep reading? I'm gonna try one more in the series before I make up my mind. It helps that these books are available on Kindle Unlimited.

4.5 "Thanks, I needed that! Stars

*ARC provided to RBC by the author in exchange for an honest review*

This story has it all!

1. Hot as hell rich alpha a-hole- check!
2. Panty-poofing sex scenes- check!
3. Jealous bitches sabotaging things left and right- check!
4. Piercings in the goodies- double check!

A perfect formula for a yummy toe-curling read!

"E.J" and Darcy meet while vacationing separately in Belize. Their attraction is instant but unfortunately E.J. is there with another woman but it's clear he is more interested in Darcy. However when Darcy boldly makes a move on E.J. she's met with a surprising response. Later Darcy learns that E.J. is really Easton and that he is connected to her life in ways she begins to loathe. Sexy and mysterious vacation E.J. is now Easton, arrogant business professional and cold-hearted jerk extraordinaire.

But damn is he hot!!

His sexy British accent mixed with borderline obsessive behavior are irresistible and remind me a little of Jesse Ward. (God, I love that man!)

I finally saw him exhale as if he was no longer at odds with whatever. He turned to face me, his hand now rubbing the back of his neck relieving the pent up tension.

"I have to punish you," he said plainly. "There's no way around it."

Easton is struggling with a secret from his childhood that has effected his ability to love and be loved. It also compels him to act in ways he feels are not healthy. With Darcy, he is able to channel his dark desires in to a more useful way that benefits them both.

I loved the interaction between them and the way Darcy stood up to him. I really think they saved each other! A good match!

"I love your laugh. If I could," I felt his body draw back, and I breathed in the feeling of feminine content as I felt his cock tease the opening where I wanted him. "I'd make sure you'd always be laughing. And making sure that your smile was never far behind."

Seriously! I was a goner for Easton after that!

I am definitely going back to read the first two in the series! I can't believe I didn't know about them before!! Where have I been?

Why 4.5 stars and not 5 stars?

I felt Darcy was very young and a bit spoiled in the very beginning. She came across as shallow and immature and almost killed the story for me. BUT over the course of the story she grew up a lot and surprised me. I don't know if that was intentional but it all worked for me!

I want to start by saying, this author certainly has talent and potential. She weaved a great story that included not only romance, but mystery. It was a good plot, and I was interested in it the whole way through.

Where I had trouble was with the relationships. I just didn't connect with Trey and Tylar, and I didn't understand why they were in love. Tylar seemed to get a case of insta-love and Trey, although he denied it, did as well. What attracted them? What made them right for each other? I don't think I ever really got it.

I was also annoyed a lot of the time with their conversations. They were just...off. They never seemed to find their true voice. The way they spoke seemed to jump around all over the place. Sometimes it was formal, almost clinical...other times it was gritty. It needed some continuity.

And the sex? Well, it was great...the first 10 times. After that it seemed to just be more of the same. It's almost like it followed a script. It needed some variation!

All in all, it's worth a read and I am looking forward to seeing the author grow in her writing!
