A Pirate and Her Princess series #1. Historical F-F romance. Closed door.
Georgina lives in a very strict society of nobles and oppressed. She discreetly carries notes hidden within her petticoats as part of a resistance group. One afternoon, upon returning home, she finds she’s been sold to the Prince as his new bride. When she overhears his plans to have her killed, she manages to escape with the help of friends but ends up in the bowels of a pirate ship, kidnapped. Pirate Captain Cinder is a terror on the open sea, striking fear wherever she sails. But Georgina knows this fierce Captain as her childhood friend she thought dead. Maybe she’s not in as much danger as she thought.

An epic adventure of kidnapping, running, hiding, overcoming obstacles and surviving when everything in life is scary, uncontrolled and threatening. Georgina wants to prove herself and ends up swabbing the deck, climbing the lines and trying to reconnect with her first love.
Lots of twists and turns, hardships and continued hope as the ship travels from stop to stop on the way to her future.
Suspenseful and riveting. Resilience. Georgina has it.

This book was both hot and hilarious. I am always blown away by the way men assume that you are so experienced just because you look good. Tyler is a prime example. Bravo Ms Temple!

I don't have much empathy for celebrity who whines about no privacy. You take the good with the bad and deal with it. Jack won me on this sweet story. He's a beautiful character.

wow, i really didn't like this and i truly regret reading it. it started bad and only got worse. not my kind of storyline, and the characters didn't endear me to the story. oliver was awful, but nick was ok. seb's a piece of shit and i definitely won't be reading his story. i felt bad for everyone but didn't feel any chemistry between them and they didn't really do anything to help themselves. i hated them as a couple, they weren't believable at all. nick feels bad about his history as a parent but i don't really see him doing much now...never tells his son he loves him, spends no time with him etc. no wonder the kid hates him. thank god i didn't pay for this.

dnf @ pg 60

I didn't feel any chemistry between the characters and found their encounters uncomfortable tbh. The first sex scene was cringey.
One of the main characters was in a bad previous relationship with an D/s dynamic that made me intensely uncomfortable. And it led to the present day where MC is afraid to safe-word out of the scene with a (basically) stranger because he's afraid of consequences (previous partner's style of D was punishing his s by pain=beating) and after that "training" he just did whatever his previous partner wanted to not disappoint him, including having sex with him.
IDK if it's me but that dynamic screams of abuse and I don't think author succeeded in delivering this part of the story.

Besidse the kink there is not much substance to the story - it unfortunately tries to be everything at once and falls short on all accords.

Obviously I read until page 60 and dnfing it, so maybe story improves after that?

I'd recommend 1st book in the series (Cup of Joe by Annabeth Albert) if you want go read something like this because it follows the same tropes, but executed much better

So good.

I adored this book. I love a damaged hero and here we have two. At first it seems that Seb is saving Martin but Seb isn't as put together as he first appears. It takes place in a second hand bookshop, how good is that. And Seb's artwork sounds amazing. Well written with a lovely relationship, I wept but there is a glorious happy ending and the promise of another book. I can't wait.

This is the second book I've read by this author and I've thoroughly enjoyed both.

This deals with Ollie, Seb's brother, and his life change from hotshot lawyer to juice bar hipster. Add in a hot bisexual former firefighter and now disillusioned dispatcher and a no-strings sexual relationship that neither of them can adhere to and you have an excellent romance. I adored Ollie with his man-bun and ratty shorts and felt so hard for Nick, living with his ex wife because of a teenage son under house arrest. The romance developed so well and naturally and I was really cheering for the guys to make it through all the problems they faced.

Great to see Seb and Martin again.

An absolutely lovely romance and I'm glad we're not done with Seacroft yet. Next up Avery.

Sweet fake husbands story. Despite them meeting and falling in love in the space of a week the romance here felt very organic. When the ship docked I sobbed for however many pages it took for Doug to get his head sorted. That's how you know I'm invested in a couple. And an adorable couple they were too.

I've not yet read a book by this author that I didn't love and this one is no exception. Starts off with snarky banter and a sizzling hot sexual chemistry. Both Nash and Brady are workaholics and don't have time for anything other than meeting for steamy hook ups. These intimate scenes are used to great effect to show the development of the relationship and how quickly it moves from a matter of convenience to something more like a relationship. Nash and Brady are both sweethearts and I loved their banter, the dynamic of their sexual relationship (which is not what you think based on the first few pages - there's no daddy kink here), and the easy progression of their relationship.

Well written, fun, with a little angst.

Highly recommended.

Allison Temple never lets me down and this time she's written one of my favourite character types in Gordo. A ginger, bearded, mountain of a man that bakes and loves animals. But Gordo is not the POV character for this story, that is his roommate, Bailey, a ball of pent up work stress whose childhood bully has recently made a reappearance.
Even with Bailey's blinkered POV the fact Gordo cares for him is obvious to the reader. So when Bailey asks Gordo to be his fake boyfriend for a weekend work shindig there is only one way for this to go.
Their road to a relationship is fun, infuriating and lovely. I adored the epilogue and the change Gordo made to Bailey's life.
FYI: I'd love Elias story. And I wish I knew what happened to Lachlan. And that chihuahua's daddy.

Avery and Lincoln had some difficult experiences with family in the past. They had a lot to work through in order to find happiness within themselves and to find and work for true love. They were sweet together. Even though he was trying not to be out, Lincoln really couldn’t stay away from Avery. He was captivated right from the beginning. There were some angsts situations that I was expecting to get heavier, but luckily they weren’t too bad. This was sweet and I liked reading about them.

I liked the last book, but I liked this one better. There was a little bit of baggage that both guys had, but it didn't really hinder their relationship growth. Oliver and Nick both think they want a no strings attached type relationship, but strings quickly form for both of them. I was really glad that there wasn't a lot of "oh no...I like him but he doesn't want strings...whatever shall I do...I can't tell him I like him". The guys didn't shy away from speaking how they felt and communicated well. I love that in a book. The relationship between Nick and his son was a bit difficult. I had a feeling it was something like it ended up being, but luckily there was enough of a surprise where I didn't see that whole storyline working out as it did. I wish there was a little more for their relationship healing, but I was glad to see that things were getting slightly better by the end. I liked the characters and the story, and I am very much looking forward to the next book in the series.

I really liked Martin as a character. He was flawed, and that was kind of refreshing. Seb has a lot of family baggage that he covered up with snark and bad attitude. I liked them together, and I liked the slow burn of this for Martin and Seb. They really connected as people and friends before their relationship, and I think that was a good thing with how off the rails Seb could be. It was a slow paced book, but I enjoyed it.

Content Note: sexualized violence, (critical treatment of) misogyny and homomisia (more details here: https://allisontemplebooks.com/uncharted/content-warnings)

Plot:
Georgina, called George, was able to live her life in relative security so far. Even though women are very limited in what they can do and how they can move about, her brother, who is responsible for her, has been mostly ignoring her, which gave her the chance to engage with the resistance against the cruel Prince and his repressive policies that seem more interested in sending out more and more ships and sailors to die at the hands of Pirate Captain Cinder than feeding the people who remain at home. But everything changes when her brother announces that he has engaged her to the very Prince George has been fighting against. Before that reality can really sink in, George and her maid Rosie are kidnapped, though, by Cinder and her crew and everything changes yet again.

Uncharted was a really good read. Entertaining, interesting world-building, nice characters and a lesbian pirate love story – yes, please. The pacing, especially with regards to the romance, wasn’t always perfect, but I did enjoy it a lot.

First time reading this author and I really enjoyed it. The characters were interesting and the story-line was plausible.

One homophone misuse that threw me out of the story for a moment but any other issues (if there were any) were minor enough that they slipped right past me.
