Phyllis Theroux's THE JOURNAL KEEPER sounded and looked interesting when I picked it up at a recent library sale, but after fifty-some pages of pretentious boredom I gave it up. I should have kept my fifty cents.

The Journal Keeper: A Memoir door Phyllis Theroux

A writer's journal, over a span of 6 years. Not just about emotional issues, but also deals with her struggles to write and what the physical act of writing means and brings to her. She can get a little heavy on the preachiness at times (spirituality is an important part of her life), but she also had some really interesting Buddhist perspectives as well.

The Journal Keeper: A Memoir door Phyllis Theroux

A slow, meditative book of the author's journal excerpts. Her life themes are family, her relationship with and loss of her beloved mother, wiring, financial security, romance in later years. Very thoughtful and thought-provoking.

Really enjoyed savoring the thoughtful tidbits about the author's life. Her frankness and contemplations are wonderful.
