It was a fun, quick read. :) And now I only have 52 more books to go in the challenge.

First, I admit that Sasha and I are friends, but she'd be the first one to tell you that when it comes to our writing that we do NOT pull punches. LOL! That said, I really enjoyed the short collection of stories. They're all quite erotic, so heads up. I have to say my favorite one out of the bunch was called THE MIRROR. The twist at the end was fabulous. Loved it. If you like erotic shorts, then this is a good bet.

The “BDSM club genre” of books is a market flooded by authors all wanting to be part of this acceptable, trendy erotica movement. The problem is unless you have an exceptional story to go along with the over used clichés, leather cuffs, implements, pieces of equipment, alpha Doms, and submissive females (almost all new to the lifestyle) the book becomes just another re-hash of the same old stuff.

There are several authors who have been in this genre for quite some time now and have some fantastic books, authors that I would call my go to favorites. The main reason is their books have substance, good story lines, character development, connection & chemistry between the H/h, and well written situations that do not develop instantly.

Because this arena of BDSM books is so vast I have developed some ideas for what I expect out of a book, as well as prejudices for books that seem like quick, thin plot/no plot, nonexistent character development books held together with sex scenes. I really want a good story line to go along with my sex scenes. I think that connection between the characters should feel real and believable (for the most part), I don’t want instant soup – add water, microwave for 30 seconds and a love connection comes out when the door is opened. If I have to have a naive female following the lead of the alpha male into the club scene, then I want her to know why she’s there, what’s in it for her, and how her life will be improved by participation in this lifestyle.

For me reading Primal (Overwatch #1) by Sasha White fell into the category of: short book (novella length), with little or no character development, some chemistry between the H/h which could have been developed further, and a book with little more than a cliché plot.

We had a cameo appearance of Ian and his new submissive Ronnie, who we meet in Unfettered (Overwatch #.5) having their first club scene together. I can see that the author is trying to build the club family and comfortable atmosphere for both books character’s and the reader. As the story progressed, I never felt a real connection between Adam and Olivia. I think that both characters had the potential to be better. I felt like the whole book was rushed. I really didn't get a BDSM feel from the book, it felt like vanilla sex with alpha male who liked to give commands (at times an animal trainer came to mind).

Overall the book didn't hold my attention, I felt like I’d been down this road before, and there just wasn't enough substance in the story line.

If you’re looking for a quick read, with an alpha male, and a “go along with the program female”, that takes place in a BDSM club then this might be the book for you.

For me it fell short and was a 2 star read

Unfettered (Overwatch #.5) by Sasha White, was the first book I've read from this author. The extremely short less then novella length (40-52 pages) was well written, but nothing special. The overall length of the book limited the character development and connection between the H/h in the story in my opinion. It seemed like about 50% of the story was spent going over the “club” rules, and new member education, with brief introductions(in name only) to the “main” club Doms, whom I expect to see in future books. Other then brief references to pieces of equipment, there is no actual BSDM play in this book. There just wasn't enough here to hold my attention or to differentiate this book from any of the other “BDSM” books currently on the market.

This book was a freebie from Amazon, as an introduction to the authors series Overwatch.

I read this book so that I would be up to date when I read the follow-on book in the series that I've received from NetGalley.

Tantalizing, tempting, titillating tales! This collection of eleven stories by eleven different authors will provide you with great variety and the opportunity to get to know authors you may have never read before. I highly recommend this bundled set for anyone looking for steamy reading on hot summer nights OR any time at all!

WATCH ME by Sasha White: Bethany is happily married but feels she needs a bit more in life. Will a bit of exhibitionism provide that for her and how will her husband respond if he finds out what she has been up to?

THE REBEL'S REDEMPTION by Jacquie Biggar: Surprises for a military veteran returning home. A single mother having to choose between a past love and someone she is currently dating. Add to this a Russian mafia type looking for revenge. AND, you have quite a story!

LOVE BY DESIGN by Liz Matis: Wealthy Victoria and Russ from Down Under sizzle on and off camera in this love story based around a design show filmed in New York.

KIRA by Lynda Bailey: A rich girl making a go of it on her own running her own deli in a small town and a boxer running the local gym next door provide the love interest in this entertaining story.

COMBINING DREAMS by Amy Gregory: Young love versus dreams of making it big in the country music industry – can one have both or must one be given up to have the other?

B APHRODITE by Calinda: Hot, hot, hot! This is a fantasy short story that also has an empowering conclusion.

THE WRONG HERO by Nancy Brophy: Twists and turns aplenty in this story. Murder, assassins, a woman at risk, cloak and dagger activities then add to this well written dialogue that provides humor, great characters and fast paced action and you have a story that is hard to put down. The heroine is full of life and makes the story oh so interesting…as does the man she ends up with.

WHISTLIN' DIXIE by Maggie Adams: Two people with tempers are thrown together in this story that has break-ins, sabotage to construction sites, misunderstandings and an eventual happily ever after ending.

LILY'S SUMMER COWBOY by D'Ann Lindun: A widow and military vet running from ghosts work together on the farm Lily is trying to manage without her husband. There are sparks Lily and Will despite their age disparity. This one left me rooting for them both and hoping they would both find the peace they both were looking for.

ROYAL SUMMER by J.C. Makk: Political intrigue, a serial murderer, mysteries, hidden identities, misunderstandings and a romance are part of this story set in a mythical kingdom.

EXCHANGING GROOMS Terry Spear: What a fun story to conclude with! Lisa has two wealthy men after her – one she wants nothing to do with ever again and another that is intrigued with her from the moment they meet. Lisa is not willing to take guff from anyone and gives as good as she gets. She says she is done with men – but is she?

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy of this collection to read and review

This was an enjoyable read. I liked that Adam is into BDSM but is not a complete jerk! And Olivia being older (mid-forties) was a nice change from most of the stories were the female lead is either barely legal or completely naive.

The multiple POVs was hard to keep up with, I found myself having to re-read the page to figure out if it is the same characters or there was a jump to the side characters - Also, the side characters took a large portion of the book which happens to be only 110 pages. The story was rushed enough as it is, so the side characters really took away from the ability to give us more on the main characters.

Primal by Sasha White
Series: Book #2: Overwatch Series
Source: Netgalley
My Rating: 4½/5 stars
My Review:

Adam Kessler is not what the world thinks he is. As far as anyone knows, Adam is an ex-soldier who owns Overwatch and stays mostly to himself. What the world doesn’t see is Adam’s fiercely loyal streak that began when he was young and has only increased in intensity as he has grown older. To those Adam calls his own, there is never any questioning his loyalty and to what lengths he will go to in order to protect those he cares for. Adam calls very, very few his own and he is always up front and honest with the women he takes to his bed.

Adam is a decided Dominant, he is not relationship material and yet should he so desire, he would never, ever sleep alone. Adam is very conscientious about his rules and his standards not only in his personal life but also in his club. He looks out for the members of Overwatch, ensures their safety and, ensures each member is properly trained. Adam’s protective nature doesn’t end when he leaves the confines of his club and it is those instincts that kick in and have him stepping in the night he sees a woman being attacked by her car.

Olivia Lang is an attractive, intelligent, psychologist who has built a nice practice and quiet life for herself. She cares for her patients, is very good at her job and though she is lonely from time to time, she just hasn’t met the right man. The night Olivia is attacked, she is justifiably afraid but not willing to go down without a fight. In the midst of her struggle, Olivia is relieved to see a tall, dark, extremely well-built and, phenomenally capable man come to her rescue. After the “Are you OKs?” and “Thank yous” are out of the way, Olivia has a moment to really assess her savior and discovers he is a man she absolutely wants to know more about.

The time in between meeting Adam and going to his place just a few days later are filled with moments of trepidation, nervous energy, excitement and, a tiny bit of anxiety. Adam is wholly different from the man she pictured herself ending up with and the difference is absolutely intoxicating. Olivia feels certain she will end up in Adam’s bed but she has no idea how profound the experience will be. Though he intends to keep the experience as all his experiences are, brief, superficial and completely satisfying, Adam finds himself doing something he never thought he would do, offering Olivia a place in his world as his sub.

The Bottom Line: Adam is just delightful in a large caged animal sort of way. Adam is protective, aggressive, self-assured, successful and, totally devoted to his life. When Olivia comes into Adam’s world, she changes things for Adam on so many levels. For the first time in many, many years Adam has found someone he can open up to, divulge his secrets (and he has secrets!) yet still be the Dominant that is so much a part of his life. Olivia is really one of the few personalities that would ever be able to satisfy Adam for the long term. Though Olivia is willing to explore a submissive role with Adam she is also a strong and independent woman who has a life outside of the bedroom. The dynamic between the two is strong, intensely sexual, cerebral and, perfect. In all, Primal is an excellent second step in the Overwatch world and I am thrilled White dealt with the club’s owner in the first full-length read of this series. Adam and Olivia are a solid foundation for what is sure to be a very strong, very sexy series!!½

Ufettered by Sasha White
Series: Book #1: Overwatch Series
Source: Purchase
My Rating: 4/5 stars
My Mini-Review:

Unfettered is a whole lot of goodness and a perfect introduction to Sasha White’s Overwatch world. It has loads of things I enjoy in a naughty read including, a second-chance romance, a tough girl looking for her mate/match and, just enough naughty to get me all excited about the continuation of the series.

Ronnie Lang has long yearned for a partner who is unfazed by her tomboy ways, a man who is not threatened by her mechanical abilities. The flip side to Ronnie’s rather masculine day job is her far less dominant and far more submissive sexual side. In all her years, Ronnie has never been able to find a man who is confident enough in his own masculinity and sexuality to be secure with a woman like Ronnie. In a last-ditch effort to find a true and lasting partner, Ronnie applies to and is accepted into the Overwatch club, a place that specializes in BDSM and is a safe environment for all members.

Every new member of Overwatch is required to undergo a series of training sessions meant to introduce them to the world of BDSM and Overwatch. Senior members of the club, both male and female lead the sessions and help new members become more comfortable with themselves and the rules of the club. In one of her earliest training sessions Ronnie is confronted head on with her past and Ian, the man who broke her heart years ago. The instant Ian sees Ronnie among the new members all of his instincts kick in and he knows, even after all these years that Ronnie is meant to be his. As a Dom and a trainer, he and Ronnie have the perfect opportunity to reacquaint themselves with one another and build a solid future based on their mutual interests.

The Bottom Line: Ronnie and Ian are really the perfect introduction to the Overwatch world and though you certainly don’t have to read their story first, I would recommend doing so. Ian is a long-time member of Overwatch, good friends with the club owner and, Ronnie’s partner and Dom. The two really do set the stage for the first full-length read in the series and enhanced my reading of the first book. I like Ronnie’s toughness that is tempered by her softer side and with Ian as her Dom, she has finally has a man capable of handling her on every level. I like Ian’s strength on every level – he is able to take control in the way Ronnie craves and is in no way threatened by her skills and abilities. In all, Unfettered is a fine start to the Overwatch series.

Title: Highland Heat
Author: Sasha White
Publisher: Sasha White
Publish Date: 2011

Higland Heat by Sasha White is an erotic romance with a bit of menage thrown in. Not your sterotypical menage from the get go, this one involves a man trapped for 300 years in a crystal ball by a witch; a doctor who loves his wife, but is unable to give her all she needs sexually, and a wife who is in love with two men.

Dougal is a Scottish, dark haired man, with much to learn about modern day. He's been in love with his neighbor's wife since he moved in to the apartment next to them about 4 months ago. He wants her, not just sexually, but for always.
John is the Doctor who has loved his wife since they were very young. Even when he left to go to Medical School, he knew he'd go back to their town and marry her. He tries to give her all she needs and wants, but there are some things he just cannot give her, like the domiance she craves in the bedroom so much.
Kathryn is the woman in the middle. In love with her husband, and drawn to Dougal, she is despearte to get him to notice her. Working in her favor, is her husband's kink for watching. This feeds his voyer side and thankfully, he too wants Dougal to be with them.

I very much enjoyed this read. It's a short, hot, erotic tale of one woman and two men. The lengths that John and Kathyrn go to in order to seduce Dougal are really quite amusing and also endearing. Both truly want him to be part of their life, even when Dougal reveals a secret known only by a select few. We the readers know the secret, but watching it unfold for the characters is enjoyable.

I like how well Sasha is able to give us quite a bit of insight within the short 39 pages of this story. The only problem I had was reading the “Scottish brouge” when Dougal was only thinking, not speaking. I kept missreading wouldna as wouldn't. Otherwise, this story is quite good, and once you realize that little quirk, it's easy to read.
I don't usually do the star system, but for Amazon and others who do, I give this a 4 star. (Actually, if I could, it would be 4 ½)

For a quick read, check it out.

Mavericks of Space by Sasha White is a quick, easy read, that’s full of erotic heat.

Tyla is from a planet out of Earth’s solar system. Max is a deaf, former Coast Guard officer.
They meet in a bar, have a drink, go to the alley and kiss and…

Max has no idea where he is or how he got there. He’s naked, in a strange place. A door opens and a man appears. Max has a lot of questions but Jason doesn’t have time to answer them. He’s busy being choked.

Tyla comes in and orders the release of Jason. When Max refuses, the ship called “Ghost” transports Jason elsewhere. With no shield and no clothes, far away from Earth, where will Max go? Why is he here? Tyla begins to answer some of the questions Max has. She is from a planet called Triton…where women are in charge and men are treated like treasures and pampered like princes. Max is a “transplant,” a being from elsewhere brought to the planet to live and have sex with the women of Triton.

Will he stay with Tyla or will he demand to go back to Earth before it’s too late.

The second story picks up a month after the first. Max and Tyla have found they have an insatiable appetite for one another, but Tyla’s upbringing includes being sexually free with others. Will she allow Max the same freedom?

They reach Triton and…you’ll have to read more to find out.

I give this a solid 4. The heat level is sizzles, but the depth of the characters is sadly lacking in such a short read. I would love to see this fleshed out more and expanded into a novel that gives a more satisfying conclusion. For two short stories, it’s good however. I recommend it when you want a quick, hot read.

Resumo: Este livro, estilo romance paranormal, é composto por 3 contos: The Devil Inside, Devil's Jewel e Mountain Retreat. As 3 histórias estão interligadas pelas personagens, que se conhecem umas às outras. The Devil Inside, conta a história de Gina e Caleb.

Pontos positivos: A capa.

Pontos negativos: Tudo o resto.

Fez-me reflectir sobre: que há demasiadas pessoas a escrever paranormal só para terem um público, quando nem sabem o que estão a fazer.

This was a hot story, and I liked it very much.
Olivia Lang is a 40+ yr Psychologist who is attacked on her way home from work, but luckily Adam Kessler out jogging is able to save her. There's an immediate attraction between them. Adam owns an exclusive BDSM club, and want's to introduce Olivia to passion. She decides this is too good of a chance to let pass by,
The story is quite good. The sex scenes between Adam and Olivia were very hot and steamy, but not really kinky for a Dom who owns the BDSM club.
I would have liked to have learned more about Adams character, and about his past and Olivia's life too.

I enjoyed reading this short story but thought it would be better if it was a bit longer just to get some more detail but I always loving these stories by Sasha.

Title: Still Sexy (Hunter Protection Group)
Author: Sasha White
Page Length: 39
Kindle Format
ASIN: B007INHES8

Caleb and Gina Mann are a married couple with secrets from the outside world, but none from each other...except for just one. You'll have to read to find out what that secret is.

Still Sexy is a fast, fun read, with just enough erotic goodness in it to make you sigh with contentment, and hot with desire.

A weekend away without their son, none of their family, and a gallary opening should make for a nice quiet weekend, but not where Gina is concerned.

As she's getting ready to go supervise the gallary set up, she dumps her purse out and her husband sees a dirty rock in it. His worried voice makes her worried and she picks up the rock...that is not a rock at all, but rather some kind of precious stone. Something hides within. What is it?

Yes, I could tell you, but you need to read this fast, delicious story to find out yourself.

If I were able to give half stars, this would be a **** ½ star review.

Disclaimer: I received a review copy in exchange for an honest review.

Wicked is just as the title states, Wicked. Lara is a strong, independent woman who has been taking care of herself since she was a teenager. She doesn't do relationships, doesn't think she can love, and is only out for a good time and sex. She hustles guys in bars at pool, she has a body and isn't afraid to use it to get what she wants.Karl was a teenaged rebel turned a successful divorce attorney and a loving Dominant who has found himself stuck in a rut. That is until he meets Lara, who catches his attention right away. Lara intrigues him with her “will try anything once” attitude and is interested in seeing if she'll be able to handle his Dominance.Karl and Lara don't have an easy time of it, giving the story a much more believable feel. It's more along the lines of the reality of BDSM, rather than the unachievable fantasy that you find more often in fiction.I love a good BDSM fiction, always have and always will. White drew me in with her characters, made me hot with the way she laid out the scenes between Karl and Lara, both in the Dungeon and in the bedroom. My biggest complaint about the book was a few inconsistencies I found while reading the story. Despite the problems, it was a great read that makes me want to read more of White's works.

I very much enjoyed reading this short story, "Meandros: An Erotic Journey" and highly recommend it to others that are looking for a quick yet erotic read. I was surprised to see that it was both sad and hopeful and sexy. My kudos to the author for pulling it off so brilliantly. It is in fact a powerful read for such a short story. Go buy it, you know you want to!

In the policy of full disclosure, I did receive a free copy of this book for reviewing purposes.
