This book would be great to teach a lesson about what autobiographies or introduce an activvity where the students are going to write their own autobiography. This is a really cute book to use when introducing maps. I think it is important that students realize that a map is not only used in reference to roads or highways (1), facts about each bug (1), This is an older level reading book that could be used with a lesson disucssing the holocaust. Also (1), this book could be used during an insect lesson in the classroom. (1), This book is about 4 puppies who start off as little in the story but find themselves changing just like the weather. (1), This is cute book about a caterpillar who eat everything once he is out of his egg. She tries things like "Can a kid make it through the winter eating only snow and ketchup?" or "What makes fungus grow?" For each silly but creative experiment there i (1), and the results. It can be used to count to 12 (1), This book has a bunch of fruit and vegetables and each food has a face on. I could use this book during a spring unit and talk about what animals can be found in spr (1), to talk about the shapes circle (1), what would it be. (1), This story is about a pig who is really shy. He works at the library and helps a really shy turtle one day find a book. The pig reads the turtle the story on "how to make new friends" (1), this book could be used when discussing helping others and being friendly. (1), this book could be used when discussing biographies. The author of this book is a man who survived the holocaust and talks about his "children" at the orphanage. This book could also go with a lesson about poland (1), or when discussing the difference between fiction and non-fiction. (1), This is a book I used with a guided reading group. This is a level 4 book so the pictures and words are simple and easy. In my lesson I also used this book to teach working in a group (1), being courteous when others are reading (1), and making inferences about the two main characters and their reactions to the items they grabbed out of the bad. (1), a Little Golden Book. The Littel Red Hen is a story about a hen who makes bread. She begins with the wheat (1), then reaped it (1), then made it into flour (1), and then baked it. All the while the little red hen asks for help throughout the story but everyone tells her no. In the end the hen bakes the bread and though nobody wanted to help her do all the work (1), and night. This book would be great for a simple lesson on rhyming (1), everyone wanted to help her eat the bread (1), but she said no! This book could be used to describe sequence of events. The students could talk about what happened first (1), and so forth.. Also the book could be copied onto computer paper (1), and the students could put the story back in order from first to last. (1), a Little Golden Book. The jolly barnyard is about a famer who has a birthday. He is in such a good mood that he is nice to all the animals and gives them good treats. Once the famer leaves (1), the animals try and find a way to repay him so they each think of something they could do. The story ends with the farmer and his wife in the kitchen and she is serving him a birthday cake. The book could easily be used for a rhyming lesson. Also (1), the book could be used in a barnyard lesson talking about characters (1), and what each animal does (ex. cow=milk (1), or talking about what is appropriate in the morning (1), This book is about a momma bear who asks her little bear what he will wear in the morning (1), horse=pull buggy). The pictures are really cool and you learn everything about pigs in one simple hardback book for young readers. (1), This is really cute book about a boy who is new in town. he has no friends so he starts walking down the street and stops and yells "novelle". All the other kids come and help him yell but nobody knows who Novelle is. The other kids eventually have to go (1), This book is about a man who instead of having a sheep dog has a sheep-sheep. Although others make fun of the man (1), cow unit (1), his sheep ends up saving their barber shop and being a vaulable aspect to their company. This book is great to teach the "sh" digraph and have the students underline or highlight all the "sh" words throughout the book. (1), Noni the Pony is a simple book with a great story. Noni is a friendly Pony all around has does nice things for her friends dave the dog and coco the cat. I used this book when emphasizing with my student how important pictures are. I read her the short st (1), and then again with the pictures uncovered (1), and asked her which way she liked better. She understood how important it is to illustrate stories with lots of details to please all types of readers. (1), Into the forest is a book very similar to little red riding hood. A boy brings his grandmother a pie however he goes through the forbidden forest to get there sooner. Along the way he encounters other fairy-tale like characters but keeps heading towards h (1), This book is all about every type of berry imaginable. It is a great non-fiction book to discuss what types of berries can be grown (1), different shapes and sizes (1), and what animals eat berries like humans. THe story could be used in farming unit (1), or wanting to discuss non-fiction features. (1), ect. In the back of the book there was a words to know section that has the more difficult vocabulary that one could teacher before reading the story. Also there was an index in the back of the book where advanced readers could look up a word and turn str (1), The noisy coutning book is an incredibly simple book. A boy goes to fish and each animal says something different. Ex. 1 frog says ga-dunk (1), the book could be used to teach letters; capital and lower case because each new letter start with big___ little ____ _ _ _. (insert letter) (1), 4 fish said blub. blub (1), blub. This would be great to begin counting with young children. Also (1), this book counts backwards from 6 so you could begin to teach bacwards counting as well. (1), This is a leverl 4 (1), or grade 2/3 book. It is about all the bones in your body and the purpose for each bone in that specific part of your body. This would be a great book to tal about skeletons (1), and introdurcing parts of your body or how to put together a skeleton properly! (1), This book is exactly what is sounds like... All about the ABC's. Dr. Seuss takes you through a fun and silly way of listing all the things that start with A-Z. I used this book in a mini-lesson over beginning sounds but only concentrated on 6 beginning so (1), This is one of my favorite math books that a college professor read to the class. The book is about a bug who is always the remainder of one in the 25 bug army. At first there are 2 lines (1), their babies (1), and he is the remainder of one. Then he splits the army into 3 lines (1), and is still the remainder. Then into 4 lines and is still the remainder (1), and lastly he finally splits the army into 5 lines where he is no longer the remainder of one but gets to march off with the army. This book is really cute to teach division (1), or multiplication. (1), If you give a moose a muffin is a great book to teach cause and effect with. The moose is never satisfied and always wants something different dpeoending on what he asked for at first. Each item the boy brings him or gets for the moose just causes the moo (1), and young children love the look at the pictures. (1), Thanks to cows is a book I used in my text set. It is non-fiction book that showed all real life pictures of cows on a farm. The book talked about their size (1), their purpose (1), or can be used for prediction. Each food's face differs from the other so it would be fun for the students to pick a food and predict how their food will be feeling and then read the story to see who was correct. This also could be used during a healthy u (1)
