Over mijn bibliotheek
I find myself feeling like Thomas Jefferson when it comes to books, "I could not live without books." I am what one would call a "slow" reader, I guess I want to make sure I take it all in. Although my library leans heavy with American history, my WANT TO READ list is changing a little towards a little more in the realm of fiction and international. The international has much to do with my visiting China for five weeks in the summer of 2008.
Over mij
I live in Nashville, Tennessee. I have lived here since I was eighteen years old, and LOVE Nashville. Nashville is a small enough place to still feel like a small town, but still is large enough to always have something going on. We have all kinds of music here, not just country music and so THAT is why we are called MUSIC CITY. I teach middle school kids (7th and 8th graders) history and geography. I have been at the same school since I started my teaching career back on January 20, 1993. So I guess you could call me a FIXTURE now. It is a job that helps to keep me young.

I've had the chance to travel the world in the past couple of years. I took students to Italy, Spain, London, and Paris. In the summer of 2008 I spent a month in The People's Republic of China on a Fulbright-Hays grant. It was life changing to say the least! There's a link to my blog on this page.
