I'm attempting to wean myself off bound paper. What matters isn't the rustling of turning pages but the ideas inside. A computer screen, printout or kindle should carry the same punch. Still, nostalgia is difficult to fight off and try as I might to gift, sell, lend away the little buggers, they still end up colonizing more and more of the already scarce living space.

My library here contains the books read from 2009 onward. It is the year I first started keeping a list. For the sake of completeness it will not go further back since I no longer have access to my former library and attempting to reconstruct it from memory is a task I don't care to undertake. In any case I believe these last four years to account for about a third of the total number of books I've read and maybe two thirds of the truly important ones.
