I just posed this list of the stores I know that are still in business. Who did I leave off?

Lavender Inkwell in Syracuse
Proud Bookstore in Rehobeth Beach
Unabridged in Chicago
Outwrite in Atlanta
Bent Pages on Staten Island
Calamus in Boston
Glad Day in Toronto

None that I know if in New York, DC, LA, San Francisco Bay Area

If Unabridged Books gets on that list, so should Chicago's Women & Children First. Each is really a general interest bookstore with a heavy concentration in gay (Unabridged) or lesbian (W&CF) literature.

But I am not surprised that bookshops are disappearing. I recently bought Paul Freeman's Outback Brumby. "thebookshop" (above) has it listed for $85. The best price I saw in the other bookshops I saw that had it was $78. Amazon has it for $44 so no prizes for guessing where I bought it.
