Can books be 'clutter'

I mentioned this group on the 'Bookcases: if you Build/Buy Them they will fill' group and there is an interesting discussion going on as to whether books can actually be called clutter. I would argue that they can but it would be interesting to hear others' views.

I think they are clutter, when they're lying around on piles everywhere around the house, but nobody actually reads them and they're only taking up space.

>6 gilroy: I just started reading "Spark Joy" by her (first book of hers I'm reading) and actually she says very sensible things about books (don't "throw them all out"). I don't know what she says about books in her other books, though.
