I enjoyed this one when I read it a few years ago back at the beginning of my journey on the list... http://johnandsheena.co.uk/books/?p=36 if anyone's interested. I'm interested to see what you guys make of it.

Finished this in under two days. The main character is a bitter irritable sociopath but some of his feelings strike a chord! Written in a very readable style. I quite enjoyed this. 3.5/5

Oh, I feel bad that nobody is reading this, including me! I got it on audiobooks when we first selected it. Then I got bogged down in listening to Ulysses, which is sucking up months of my driving time. I will listen to Notes from the Underground next but by then the book discussion will be on something else.

Managed to at least begin this within the month of July. It is not the best choice for audiobooks, nor the best thing to read after Ulysses. I am finding it kind of agonizing. It reminds me of Samuel Beckett but with less wacky levity. Maybe it will grow on me...

I started this about a week ago and have been forcing myself to pick it up and read a chapter or two each day. (Glad they're short.) I'm struggling with it. I don't "get" the premise. There isn't much flow. Some of the statements are great. I can't figure out who is talking, or who he is talking to or why. I feel like such a shallow reader, but I do like having a plot!
