To continue the topic I posted in the 2014 thread on planning for 2015, please let me know if there are groups you'd like me to add to the list of other groups of interest or if there are threads you'd like me to list in the theme reads and group reads list. Also, what are your thoughts about starting a thread for WWI reading, or do you just want to continue to post in last year's thread?

Hi, I'm Rachel, and I'm looking for people to join me in a group read of Epic of Gilgamesh. I'm mainly active in the 75ers, but thought that Club Readers might be more enticed by this title (I've found one other person who's interested over there).
I've got the Norton Critical Edition, which includes some essays, and I'll also try throwing in a few supplemental books like The Archetypal Significance of Gilgamesh, The Gilgamesh Epic and Old Testament Parallels, and Somewhere I Have Never Travelled. If we had a thread set up, I would probably share some information gleaned from those books as well. Thus, it'll probably take me some time to complete my Gilgameshian journey.
Of course, I don't expect anyone else to want to read an entire library of books about Gilgamesh, but I'd love to have company in reading the actual text.

I'm not sure where the best place is to post this, but I am sure a lot of Club Readers will be interested. This book was my top read of 2013.
MASTERPIECE on PBS has optioned The Signature of All Things, the best-selling novel by Eat Pray Love author Elizabeth Gilbert, to be adapted for television. The critically-acclaimed bestseller chronicles the explorations of scientist Alma Whittaker, a heroine who is equal parts Elizabeth Bennet and Charles Darwin, as she spends her days seeking nothing less than the answers to the origins of life.
Author Elizabeth Gilbert says: "I'm beyond thrilled to be working with MASTERPIECE on the adaptation...Whenever I dreamed of seeing my novel transformed for the screen, I dreamt of working with exactly this team of people, and I'm delighted that my dream has come true."
MASTERPIECE, produced by WGBH Boston, is developing the project with Origin Pictures, a top UK film and television production company. Stay tuned for more details!
(For the record, this book is NOTHING like Eat Pray Love.)

Just kicked off a group read of Ezekiel, where I've already brought up deep perplexing theological questions such as, Did Ezekiel see a UFO? It's, of course, part of the bible group read that has been going since 2012 - a literary and non-religious take. Jeremiah, the previous book, was really just me. So I thought I would advertise this one on case anyone is interested in joining me.

I was really sad to learn of the passing of LT member Solla Carrock. She was once active in CR.

VOLUNTEER(S) NEEDED
I have loved being the Club Read administrator for the past several years, following Lois/avaland who started this group and led it for several years herself. But it is time for me to pass the baton, as I am unable to continue to do this for 2016.
Please PM me if you have any interest, and I will give you whatever guidance I can.
Thank you.

I have loved the way that you have administered us Rebecca. It has felt like a light touch on the tiller which I appreciate. Above all however it is a club that is open to all types of readers and one in which many people feel comfortable. Thank you for all your hard work.
I am sure that you will find someone to take over such a successful and well run group.

>5 Cariola: Just saw this post and I'm thrilled that there's going to be an adaptation of The Signature of All Things. What a wonderful read that was.

>12 auntmarge64: I'm really looking forward to it, too!

Rebecca, thanks for shepherding us for as long as you have. Having organized a few things on LT, I do know how much it can eat away time. You did a fantastic job.
15AlisonY
Ditto what the others have said, Rebecca. You have made me feel very welcome as a newbie this year.

Thank you, Kay and Alison.

I hope the group finds someone willing to take this on. It's been a pleasant experience being in the group this year.
18rebeccanyc
A few people have said they would take over "if nobody else volunteers," so I'm waiting a few more days to see if anyone else volunteers!
19lilisin
I wish I could volunteer but I couldn't even continue running my own group! But whoever is chosen will never be able to fill your shoes. Thank you for your hard work!
