Found: young girl finds doll in attic

I read this book when I was in grade school in the 1960s. A young girl has to go stay with a grumpy, elderly woman. I don’t remember if they are related to each other. It’s possible the woman is a great-aunt. The girl finds an old doll in the attic that was the old woman’s favorite doll when she was a child. I think she first finds a diary written by the owner of the doll which leads to her looking for it in the attic. I’m thinking Sarah may have been the name of one of them, but not sure.

Was it a scary book? This one doesn't have a Sarah but it's always the first "doll" book I think of and was written in the 60s. A Candle in Her Room.

Possibly Magic Elizabeth? The young girl goes to stay with her Aunt Sarah in that one.
