I thought this was already discussed but ain't finding it in a site or group search.

When a ghostwriter is known and later acknowledged on later editions, is that person a "main author" or a "secondary author"? Does the answer depend on the contributions of the celebrity whose name is often first?

I would call that person a "main author". She and the celebrity are co-authors, and I wouldn't parse the level of each person's contribution.

If a book says 'My life' by 'famous person' with Somebody else' I enter 'Person, famous' as the author, and 'Else, Somebody' as Other author, (Author) and in the work page other author section as main author.

We really don't know what the division of labour was, but it seems to me that the book would never have been published without both of them.

That way makes sense to me. Thank you, both!
