As the admin had abandoned us again, let's get that sorted out.
The usual rules apply:
- Nominate any author you would like to read (with the exception of the last 24 authors who were selected: the list is here: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/Monthly_Author_Reads).
- Repeated authors are ok (as long as they are not one of the last 24).
- You can nominate as many authors as you want and you can add more nominations at any time
- If someone already nominated an author you want to read, you can second, third (and so on) or just mention them again
- An author gets a point for every vote (nomination or seconding and so on)
- The author with the most votes is our April author, the second one gets May, the third one gets June.
- In case of a tie, we just continue filling the months (no point doing second rounds I think - if there are enough people wanting the authors, we may as well).
Deadline: 1 March 2022
PS: I will run a running total so please don't edit your old messages - just add new ones when you want to add (or remove) someone to/from your list of nominees.

Oops, I see that we read Forster in March, 2020, so I guess it’s too soon. I’ll withdraw the nomination.

>5 dianelouise100: He is eligible - we are voting for April and onwards - April 2022 is the first month he is eligible again. :) Do you still want to withdraw him?

I nominate Mary Elizabeth Braddon. She's most famous for her sensation novel Lady Audley's Secret, but she wrote scores of others and some good ghost stories as well.
I also nominate Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Oh yes, I'll second Mary Elizabeth Braddon.

I’ll add a second for W. Somerset Maugham.

4 authors got too votes so:
April 2022: M. M. Kaye
May 2022: W. Somerset Maugham
June 2022: Mary Elizabeth Braddon
July 2022: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Next nomination and voting thread will run from June 1 to June 30 and we will be picking up Authors for August and September (and longer if we have a tie again)
I will start the topics and all that in a few days :)
