Old school book

I can’t remember the name but the story was about this group of people living in a house and it was written in letter formate i believe, it was also old timey. It wrote about this lady in the house wasting away her life and regretting marrying this man and wanted a new life. Her husband ends up going away for business reasons and she goes to the local town get together and meets someone new and flirts with them.
