Lowboy

I just finished reading Lowboy by John Wray, and it is one excellent book for New Yorkers to read. The book is about a paranoid schizophrenic teenager who believes the world is heating up and that he can stop it by...doing something that I won't reveal here. The book reads like a page-turning thriller but has all the depth and richness of Literature (with a capital L!).

tags would be schizophrenia, teenage boys, New York City, NYC subway system, mother-son relationship, teenagers in love...and probably more if I thought longer.

I especially recommend fans of Junot Diaz, esp. Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao and Jonathan Lethem.
