I checked this out from my library to see if it would offer any inspiration on personalizing memory bears; I might try folding/bunching the ears (perhaps differently-shaped ears for different animals) or sewing the ears in sideways at the top of the face seam instead of the front/back head seam.
The toy animals included in this book are mostly made of stretchy knit fabrics (old sweaters and sweatshirts), which are fairly forgiving in terms of pattern precision, so this might make a nice primer for folks looking to start sewing soft toys (and who have a ready stash of old sweaters/sweatshirts to experiment with).
